I predict Patrik Elias, with 45G and 65A. (110pts)

Scott Gomez is a close second, with 35G and 70A. (105pts)

Brian Gionta is third with 40G and 45A. (85pts)

Discuss.

Elias will hit 100 points if he stays healthy for the season, so I'll say him.

Tough to say. GOmez or Elias. I say Goomez but they both are going to break the 100pt barrier, if not, they will be close.

I'm feeling Whitey will have a breakout season with 98pts.

But seriously, Gomer with 102pts.

We know it will be a foward, but to add to this question, who do you think will lead the D in scoring?

I'll take Martin with 45pts.

I would say Elias, him getting a chance to play a full NHL season with the rule changes is scary. I am a Ranger fan, but have always been a huge fan of Elias, I can see him easily getting about 50/54/104

I would hope its Elias but I wouldn't be surprised to see Gomez really light it up being a Huge contract year and all.

Elias, followed by Gionta, and then Langenbrunner. In case your wondering, Gomez is not on the list because hes not gonna be on the team.

I think that is an accurate figure. I expect him to edge out Rafalski by a few points as he earns more ice time.

Here is my prediction:

1. Patrik Elias
2. Brian Gionta
3. Scott Gomez
4. Jamie Langenbrunner
5. Zach Parise
I can see Gomez/Elias battling for #1. Elias will have more goals but Gomez will have more assists. Before last year I think it would have been a runaway for Elias, but now that Gomer can put some pucks in the net I don't know.

1.Elias
2.Gomez
3.Gionta
4.Langenbrunner
5.Parise
6.Rafalski
7.Mogilny (if he actually plays 60 games)
8.Martin
9.Brylin
10.Madden
11.Marshall
12.Pandolfo
13.Tallackson
14.Hale
15.White

Actually, throw Parise ahead of Langs for #3. Everyones so down on Parise after last yr but I think he'll have a breakout year this season or next (he may not have enough help this year.) He scored 32 pts last yr but remember, he was playing on the worst 2nd line in the NHL w/ Marshall and Brylin for most of the year. Their plus minuses at one point were -7, -14, and -18 I believe, with Parise at -14. With Gomez and Gionta, he did fine (he eventually finished with -1).

7.Mogilny (if he actually plays 60 games)

If he play 60 games with a 15-16 minutes average ice time et will be 4th on the team.

Elias and Gomez will both hit the century mark and i also expect to see Martin get about 35-40 points.

And who will be traded to get under the salary cap? You've written all the players, who might be traded...

My choice is Elias ahead of Gomez and Gionta, but neither of them will reach the 100 point plateau...

JimEIV

Let me say this....

1. IF we keep all our core players and 2. Parise finishes in the top 5 in team scoring the Devils will have a huge season.

Because for Parise to finish in the top 5 it will probably mean 50+ points. You pretty much bet the house that Elias, Gionta and Gomez will have more than 60 points a piece in a full season then you have Langenbrunner and Rafalski that should be in the 50 range (Langenbrunner a little higher and Rafalski a little lower but right about 50)....In order for Parise to crack the top 5 he'll need 50+

You add a 50+ point scorer to a lineup with Elias, Gomez, Gionta, Langenbrunner you have depth at forward that is unbelievable. And if those 50+ come from the Center position...Forgetaboutit! But asking for 20 point increase at a new position is a lot to ask for.

Tallackson-Gomez-Gionta (All American Line Still)
Elias-Parise-Langenbrunner

If Elias and Parise found an ounce of Chemistry together I think you would see things reminiscent of the A-Line with a little more snarl..........This could be very Dangerous!

I predict Patrik Elias, with 45G and 65A. (110pts)

Scott Gomez is a close second, with 35G and 70A. (105pts)

Brian Gionta is third with 40G and 45A. (85pts)

Minus 10 to 15% for each player and It think you hit their numbers a little closer.

So that would be 93 to 99 for Elias

89 to 94 for Gomez

72 to 76 for Gionta

My choice is Elias ahead of Gomez and Gionta, but neither of them will reach the 100 point plateau...

Patrik Elias LW 38 16 29 45

Elias scored 45 points in 38 games...He missed just about 55% of the season.

He scored at 1.184 points per game while coming back from a serious illness and in the begining was playing limited minutes per game.

Averaged out over the Full Season Elias was on track for a 97 point season.

One of the things I thought was interesting is Elias missed out on the Gravy Train of Powerplays early in the season...By the time Elias was back in the game, the officials had slowed down with the whistle more than just a little bit.

You look at the Powerplay goals scored this year and it was insane....There were 10players in the NHL that had 19 or more PP goals this season....Of Elias' 45 points 21 were PP points (6g 15a). Had Elias played during the nights of the early part of the season were there were literally 20 PP per game his point totals would have been certainly altered higher.

A 100+ point season from Elias is not out of the question for Elias.

Elias was among the leading scorers in the playoffs this season. He was finally 100% healthy and clicking w/ linemates. And oh by the way, he only played 2 playoff series.

I'll say Elias w/ 48 goals and 67 assists for 105 points

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Elias leads - no surprise, but my pick for second is drum roll please........................Langenbrunner,

they where dy-no-mite down the stretch and into the playoffs, I think they have something there.

But this is all contingent on Laperierrier (sp) showing langs how to shoot on net.

There are 5000 threads speculating who's going to get traded. So taking a break from the cap I made a list.

I dunno if Langs has the consistency to beat out guys like Gomez or Gionta. In short bursts, yeah, but over a whole season?

The limb you're out on is paper thin, my friend. ;)

Langenbrunner is my favorite type of player. He is Claude Lemieux minus the face washing and gentle stick taps to the groin. He skates, forechecks, plays great defense, stays within the system and has a cannon of a shot from the high slot. He is what he is -- a great defensive forward with scoring touch. Those guys generally don't get more points than skilled players like Scott Gomez or Brian Gionta. Even if Elias carried him in ridiculous ways (like leading the league in scoring), I don't think Langs cracks the Devils' top 3. Great player and absolute cog in our machine, but Langs won't get more than 60-65 points tops. That isn't going to put him in the top 3, and if Parise breaks out this year, it won't put him in the top 4.
