Gionta with the game winner (of course)

I won't make a prediction, but I hope Gomez can get like 6 points to quiet all these trade rumors.

I'm going with 3-1 Devils. Goals from Madden, Freeze and Gomez (yes that Gomez)

I'm just going to make a side comment that has nothign to do with the game tonight - I really hate the dark jerseys at home. I just can't get used to them. Ok, that was off base, but seriously, going to take a while to get used to seeing the Devs in red at home and white on the road.

I am going with a 1-1 tie. Buffalo goal from Jay McKee, NJ goal from Scott Niedermayer.

I don't know if Marshall is back tonight, but if he is we could see a good fight or two between him and Andrew Peters. Maybe Turner or Stevens will go a round with him if things get out of hand.

So much for that thought. Peters is a healthy scratch. Ruff should have dressed him just to entertain all the people in Rochester for a few shifts.

Unless Berglund goes down to Albany, Marshall will be a scratch too I think.

Brian Rafalski is a man amongs boys out there. He has been unbelieveable in this game.

P.S. - He's also been our best player this season IMO.

P.P.S - We have no finishers on this team. 5 on 3 PP and we had shot after shot with no goals. It's frustrating watching us get shots down low at point blank range and we just can't put it in. I don't know what the answer is, but we need to start scoring.

Taylor makes Broduer look silly with a nice shot upstairs.

Turner Stevenson looked lost.

Stevens hasn't been himself this year, and Hale and Martin have been average at best. I'm concerned with out D. White hasn't been anything special either, nor has Albelin or Brown for that matter. Rafalski and Nieds have been great though.

I'm not too worried about the defence, but the team shooting percentage definitely needs an improvement.

If ever there was a single game where Gionta should get his offense going it should be this one. He supposedly has 100 plus friends in attendance for this one.

There's another example of our lack of confidence on O. Everyone looking to pass on a 3 on 1 oppurtunity. Elias roofs it into the crows on a nice save by Biron.

You're probably right, but man, i miss Dan-o. Talk about an unsung hero for the ages. Stevens is up there too, these young guys need to step up, but they are still young.

Get Gomez a winger and watch him get back to 75+ points a year. Berglund looks good tonight also. If we lose him on waivers trying to send him back to Albany I am going to go absolutly mental!

Friesen ties it on the PP. Langenbrunner worked well down low and had several chances.

Looked like Brylin injured his wrist in the 3rd period. Didn't see him on the bench or back out on the ice ever since the clean hit.

Elias pretty much did all the work for the Langenbrunner goal, and Elias made the pass to Niedermayer in OT. I only saw the third and OT, but it sure looked to me like he was trying out there.

I doubt Gomez gets 75 points playing for NJ. I doubt that anyone will.

If we lose Berglund on waivers, make sure there is room for me in the straight jacket you will be wearing.

I have been saying this all along, Burns won't play Berglund, the guy has yet to get a chance on the offensive lines also. I really hate Burns as a coach, horrible for our younger forwards.

Incidentally, Brian Gionta has been on the first line for the past few games with Elias and Gomez. I know he's been moved around, but come on. You can't be serious.

Berglund was less consistent then Rupp was last season and thats saying a lot. He knows he has to play his best to get more minutes and stay up with the team and lately he's been looking pretty invisable. Rasmussen was again more impressive then he was tonight.

Thats ******** Jason. Berglund needs to produce a bit before he can be moved up (and the same can be said for Gionta). Rupp dosnt even get up with Jersey last year if it wasnt for Burns. The young fowards just arent good enough to play on the first line right now.

Agreed...we need to get a snake bite kit for Elias and we need to hold a target practice session.
Devils did not take this game seriously and paid for it with a point.
They need to make the point tomorrow night against Florida and let them know that they will not take any points from us easily.
I hope Brylin will be able to play.

When Grant Marshall is healthy, I think you'll see him with Gomez and Elias, both of whom should remain Devils IMO. No need to trade either.

I would like to see Gionta sit and Berglund get more playing time. If anyone is going down to Albany, it will be either Martin or Hale. Remote possibility of Rasmussen going down. He should pass through waivers with no problem. But you never know! :dunno:

According to the NY Times game recap, Brylin injured his shoulder and will be questionable for tomorrow night against the Panthers.

If Marshall isn't ready to go tomorrow night and Brylin and Larionov can't play then who gets called up from Albany? Or will Albelin or Brown play wing tomorrow night?

Maybe Marshall was not 100% before.
Hopefully, with his healthy return - that line will get better.
