While I was updating stats for some of the prospects, I came across something that I thought some of you guys might want to check out.

Just a draft history for the Devils, and it has most of the stats. It's interesting to see what some of the players that never made it to the pro's have been up to over the last while......

I'm impressed with the Devs 2000 Draft. But I guess that's what happens when you have 4 picks in the 2nd round.

The 1990 draft was great. The Devils picked 4 players in that draft who today are very important players for their respective teams(Brodeur, Dunham, Bombardir, Modry). The 2000 draft also has potential to be a good one has we have at least 3 NHL players from it.

1986 was a brutal year for everyone.
I like this gem
Joe Ranger
Selected by New-York Rangers round 10 #198 overall 1986 NHL
They actually drafted a guy named joe ranger !!!!

Hard to believe we could have the following lines -

Shanahan - Sykora - Guerin
Elias - Morrison - Gomez
Rolston - Madden - Sullivan
Pandolfo - Brylin - Gionta
---------------------------------------
Other notables - Oliwa, McCauley, Dowd, Danton, Yelle, (and all remaining prospects)

Niedermayer - Rafalski
Smith - White
Modry - W. Mitchell
---------------------------------------
Other notables - Bombardir, Weinrich, Van Ryn, Hulse, Commodore, (and all remaining prospects)

Brodeur
Dunham
---------------------------------------
Other notables - Schwab, Burke, (and all remaining prospects)

Thats why the Devils are the best drafting team in the NHL.

I really hate Mike Van Ryn! He should have signed with us. I thought he would be better sooner, but he is starting to flash his potential this year. Just wish it was with us.

He will always be a bum in my book! Thank goodness we took Scotty Gomez with the next pick. Bad enough to see Arnott and Guerin in Stars uniforms. Had the Stars selected Gomez, just imagine how much better they would be? BTW, what the heck is wrong with them? Do they miss Derian Hatcher that badly?
