Bench clearing brawl-BC vs. Chicoutimi

At about the six minute mark in the third period with BC leading Chcioutimi 5-0, LEmieux from Chicoutimi takes out Walsh our goalie. The 4 players on both sides got at it and Boiscalir (for chicoutimi) was in the box, he jumps out of the box and goes after BC players. Chicoutimi bench clears and so does the drakkars. The whole thing lasted a good 15 minutes, the radio announcer said he hasn't seen anything like this. Prior to the brawl, a BC player got a 5 minute fopr high sticking which lead to some tension and that player Busque was sent to the dressing room. He actually came out to join in the brawl. Boisclair is definitely gone for at least 5 games, Busque will proabably get something too. MAtte is gone for at least 2 and so is LAperriere (BC coach). Chcoutimi have been shut-out in their last 3 games and frustration took over I guess. Lots of fines to be had and I was suppose to go up and see the game, damn it, I knew I should of gone, ah well. At least we didn't start the brawl like last year in Halifax.

Read something about a brawl last night but was busy with something else and didn't read on. Too bad you weren't there for the game route. I had front row seats to last years brawl and would have liked to compared to see if this one out did Hal/BaC.

It is happenings like this that make me VERY hesitant to miss a single game.

Chicoutimi's Maxime Boisclair was suspended for 15 games (5 for leaving the box, 10 for returning to the ice after being sent off by the ref). Chicoutimi's coach Rene Matte got 2 games, presumably because his players were the first off the bench. Baie-Comeau's Martin Krayzel got 3 games for attempt to injure (I assume that is for the incident early in the 3rd that precipitated the melee).

you're right Phil for Krayzel, he got a 3 game suspension for intent to injure, no surprise there, no place for that in hockey (intent to injure that is). Surprised our coach didn't get suspended for letting his players go.

NOTE : Young rising star Romy Elayoubi (Who wasn't doing anything since entering the Q) broke his clavicle during this fight.
