Sandman13 11-09-2003, 03:26 PM Does anyone know what is going on? He has played in 3 of Albany's 11 games, and I believe he has been a healthy scratch every game he didn't play. Might he be moved to another team soon? I don't mean that the Devils will neccessarily trade him, but might they re-assign him somewhere else where so he can play? I was expecting he might crack 15-20 goals this year, but at this rate he will be lucky to play 15-20 games.
NJ_Devil_Boy 11-09-2003, 05:33 PM Rob Srklac has played in 6 games. Srklac and Cloutier have the same job basically, so I don't see why they should play in the same game (unless they are playing a GOON filled lineup that night). Good point though...why is Srklac playing over Cloutier? Injury? :dunno:
ratsgirl 11-10-2003, 12:48 PM well, i guess this answers that question:
East Rutherford , NJ – The New Jersey Devils today re-assigned three players from the AHL's Albany River Rats to the ECHL. The announcement was made by Devils' CEO/ President/General Manager Lou Lamoriello.
Re-assigned were goaltender Matus Kostur ( Columbus ), and forwards Scott Cameron and Brett Clouthier ( Cincinnati ). Kostur did not play in any games at Albany this season, while Cameron appeared in two AHL games, and Clouthier saw action in three contests.

Yep that's the one, but I think Lou had other reason's on why he protected him.
NJDevs430 11-10-2003, 07:28 PM Still, the question remains - how much worse can they be?
Why not try Kostur in goal at least? Maybe he can step it up at a higher level...
When Marty retires...the Devils are in some deeeeep s**t.

Of course, Brylin would do great in net. Well, not great. He does everything well. Not great, just well. And everything would include goaltending, right? I mean, just get him to think he's just trying to block shots on D, but with extra pads and a small zone to do it in.
