Damn those are great quality shots. The C looks good on him. PELi or anyone else for the matter, have you had a chance to watch him much so far? IF so, how is he looking in games?

Ive seen most of the games this year, not any of the road games. He looks to be much better and sharper than last year. But instead of dishing off to seasoned vets he finds himself playing on a line with a 17 year old rookie, and a 20 year old tough guy.

He is still getting points. 12 in 14 games, but dont expect huge things from him statistically this season.

The thing that the coach here really loves about Petr is his leadership and work ethic. He is one of the most skilled players in the league, but when he can lead and work his butt off every shift that makes him even better.

We have 13 rookies this year so Petr is really looked up to on the team. He is a really competitve player, and when things dont go right he gets frustrated. But he is working with the younger players and they have already shown improvement.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm surprised he's captain already at 18 years of age. Kids got some pressure there to perform.

Youngest Captain in team History. Says alot when he is a 2nd year player and we have 2 guys who have been in the league 5 years.

Coach loves him.

Thanks a lot La-La-Laprise. Its nice to see other Moosehead fans around that have such a great knowledge of the game. The pictures and reports are appreciated.

I plan to take in the Nov. 14th game and will bring a digital camera for some Vrana pictures. I hope the game is as exciting as the last few games I've had the chance to see.

Unthinkable - Aside from what Laprise has already said, Vrana has looked very impressive thus far. He's recently suffered a shoulder injury and will likely miss a few games in the coming weeks.

His drive is unbelievable though. When the Shawinigan came to town last Friday, Vrana was used a LOT. He's getting sharper in every situation he's put in and I expect him to get a lot better.

The fact that he's playing in Halifax means he'll probably get a fair amount of big game experience. I think the Mooseheads played to a game seven in 2 or 3 series last year and Vrana was there for all of them. This year is a rebuilding year but next year will be very different.

I guess all I can say is that I'm impressed. I believe he just won the QMJHL player of the month award too. Hopefully he'll build on that.

Also Crosby won it, sorry lol
Vrana won Mooseheads Player of the Month for October.

And Vrana has 3 options next year:

a) QMJHL - Halifax
b) NHL - New Jersey
c) Euro leagues

He CAN NOT play in the AHL at 19 because he was drafted out of the CHL, so he is treated like a CHL Player. If he was drafted out of Czech League he could play AHL at 19.

Ya your right, Khomutov, Kadeikin and Chvatal can all play in Albany.
Yup, although Khomutov would need more CHL im my opinion, he isnt exactly tearing the league up.

He is playing on the third line and just got injured, averaging almost a ppg is good for a first year player.

Oh i know he is doing well, just not good enough to warrant moving up sooner.

He looks like Chistov on the AMD, as far as body type. Hope he turns out to be as skilled.

I think Vrana can get up to 195.

he was 5'10 170 last year. He is 5'10 180 now. 5'10 195 isnt out of the question.

Well Scott Gomez is 200lbs. Brenden Morrow (5'11") is 210lbs I don't see why Vrana couldn't reach 190-200 lbs range.

Good point, but if you have seen Vrana he seems to have a smaller frame naturally than guys like Morrison and Gomez. Plus i think anymore than 195 would make him slow, a lot of his game is built on speed.
