RangerSteve 06-10-2006, 06:17 PM What's goin on guys? Just stopping in here to make this post real quick. If any of you guys are in the Morris County area, tomorrow about 10 of my buddies, including myself, are going to be playing roller hockey in Parsippany. The rink is located on Parsippany Blvd near the Embassy Suites and the Movie Theater on Rt 46. We start at around 1PM, so if anyone wants to come on out and play a pick up game or 2 feel free to join. We'll have a mix of Ranger/Devil fans, so hopefully we won't have too many fights :handclap:
If you have no idea where it is located or would need directions, just respond below and tell me where you are coming from because I can give you some directions.
Thanks guys and gals

This would be an outdoor rink. We play every Sunday and start around 12:30-1PM. We use a ball instead of a puck, simply because we have a few guys taht would try to break someones leg if they were standing right in front of them. heh.
forceten 06-11-2006, 07:56 PM Ahh. I play league roller hockey, but always indoor on sport court, and always with a puck.. I can't stand ball :-)
Right now I'm playing in edison and was hoping to find something closer to home. Morristown is a s-hole, Bridgewater was the best but closed down, and ISCA is annoying as well.
RangerSteve 06-11-2006, 08:06 PM I'm not a big fan of Mo-Town myself. In Bridgewater I think that place was called Extremes? I was always wondering about it..why did it close down?

Why don't you like the Morristown facitility? I don't play, but I've been there every now and then just to watch a game (like going to the bowling alley on league night to watch some games). At least you can get Cluck-U after the game.
<(-:**
I think the guy actually tried to put in artificial ice, but I don't know what happened with that. Besides, there are two real ice rinks within a five minute drive from there.
Is Florham Park suitable (never been there, myself) or is it strictly a roller rink (no in-line) like from when disco was big.

The owner got a divorce and his wife received the business, and she was singularly determined to shut it down, sell off the equipment... so to spite him. It was before that the cleanest, best run, best reffed, nicest rink in the area by an exponential factor.

Because it's a dump. It's small, low-roofed, they take ZERO care of it - the surface is dirty as hell, the scoreboard was missing light bulbs so you never knew exactly how much time was left, etc, the refereeing was abysmal - guys who did not know the rules of hockey - laughable - the only guy worth anything was Dan but he didn't ref.. and it was expensive. A total s-hole. It's worse than ISCA.

It's too small, and it's just a roller rink.
Right now, my team moved to Inman in Edison. Nice sized rink ( a tad smaller than official size but larger than ISCA or Motown), officiating is eeh - one regular ref is a moron who doesn't know the rules, but the main ref is very competant - rink's not dirty.. boards are cheap, but work.. shrug. It's inexpensive.
We need a dual 200x85 rink inline indoor league facility run well with adult trained officials who aren't buddies with some of the teams and who don't play at the facility. Someone? Anyone?
crashlanding 06-12-2006, 10:02 PM How is the league over at Inman, I heard a bunch of the guys from Rexplex went over there after that shut down. They were pretty rowdy, fights every other game. Also did the summer league start yet? I'm looking for a place where me and my buddy could just show up and join a team for the summer. I live in North Brunswick so there's practically nothing that close.

Do you play in any league or just open hockey at inman? I'm currently playing in the D league due to the fact my team doesnt have a decent amount of good players.

It's pretty good. It's no Extremes, but its not bad. Not too dirty, most of the guys are good guys.

League. I'm in the C league on The Heat (#15).

After the July 4 Holiday.. July 5th or 6th the Summer league starts.
I have no idea how difficult it is to be placed with a team - I'm assuming that they have some sort of "draft" where available players are matched with teams, but my team went to Inman as a team. We went to Morristown as a team, and were in Extremes as a team, so it's been a while..
I wish we had a 2nd team, since I'd love to play at least twice per week, but Inman is a bit far for me to do two there.
