I met Teemu Selanne today. I now work at the golf course in Coto De Caza, which is where Teemu happens to live. Anyways, I got a chance to chat with him a bit today and he ASSURED me that he is going to re-sign. I'm sure all of you assumed this anyways, but I just thought I'd let ya know.

Nah. He said he's there all the time, so I'm sure I could get it sometime. But that's not really what matters to me, I'd rather just talk hockey with him. Next time I see him I'll ask if he's heard anything about who the Ducks are going after.

Side note...I've had a few crossings with Teemu. One during his rookie season meeting and having my picture taken with him. I was 15 at the time, and that was huge. Had a chance to talk to him a day or two after he was dealt to the Ducks as well. He returned one night to the Winnipeg Arena to see Sirpa when she was pregnant, and was laying low, hanging out down by the Zamboni area, which happened to be where I sat.

The last run-in, however, occured a few years back. I was getting gas with friends at a station/deluxe carwash in La Verne. World's Largest, or some ****. I noticed a Viper sitting in the "stand-by" area of the car wash. Tag was "faaaaast" or whatever it was. Immediately noticable as Teemu's. I asked the attendant if the car's owner was around, but he smirked and said his wife was picking it up in an hour. So alas, I didn't get the chance to speka with him again. But, it was a pretty random, fun occurance for a guy from Winnipeg.

I will say that in my two meetings with Teemu he was always absolutely gratious and kind, and each report I hear of others' encounters with him mirror my experiences. Thats probably why I tend to be defensive of him. He seems to be a fantastic guy, and I am very happy to hear that he's expecting to sign back with the Ducks. Favorite player on favorite team is an unbeatable combo.

Teemu's returning to Finland shorty, the midsummer party is in 2 weeks and Teemu won't miss it.
