Wow, what a great way to get through the summer with hockey. After the finals are over, I won't see another hockey game until opening night next season (not to mention I haven't been able to watch most of the playoffs without OLN).

The Ottawa one rules Gomez's 10 minute shootout nailbiter and Madden's hilarious SHG when he lifted Alfies stick. In my opinion the most exciting of the bunch.

I especially like the fact that they will show all four games of "The Sweep" against the Rangers. It will get me psyched for training camp.

It reminded me of my childhood watching John MacLean beat Darren Pang to send the Devils to the playoffs for the first time. But that Ottawa game was great.

I second it. As I was out of the region in 1988, this is the most exciting regular season game I ever saw. And the run ... the streak as FSNY has deemed it, will be one of my Devils highlights forever. Can't wait to see them raise that banner, I would guess no division banner can ever mean that much to me again. I'm proudly wearing my division championship shirt today, even though in the Devs' eyes it's far short of the ultimate goal. Do what they did ... well I'm still knocked out.

Devils win, woohoo! I love shootouts, I don't care what some people say, they're great entertainment.

Wow, I don't remember this game being that exciting. Both teams had tons of scoring chances.

I remember Heatley saying after the game, about the laser that Brodeur gloved out of the air near the end of overtime that he didn't get all of it. :)

Also Brodeur and Gio gave Gomez some ribbing about his amazing move on the shootout goal.

Was this the game where one of the refs was caught on cam for saying, "last time this happened it turned out to be a big **** up."

I forgot about the replays. While I was watching the Red Sox and Mets game, I saw a promotion for an interview with Gary Bettman. I was wondering how things would have been if the Devils had gone to SNY from FSN-NY. I was wondering if they would have shown classic games. That made me wonder when "The Streak" was going to start, so I flipped over to FSN and saw the Devils.

It really was great to see the Devils and hear Doc and Chico. I can't wait until camp opens and then the season starts, Patrik Elias or no Patrik Elias.

Don't miss game 2, Sabres at Devils, which is on tonight. And don't be late, or you'll miss the first goal.

Sid had a goal and an assist. However, he was stoned by Marty Brodeur late in the contest on a breakaway. Elias tied things up shortly afterward, and Gionta blasted a shot up high in OT for the win. It was a great game.

The game that changed Gomer's natural smile... of course he's still smiling through the blood on the bench.

There was a lot of good kharma this year like in this game. Gomer got his tooth knocked out by Cairns, but Parise's shot, but then the puck goes right in off of Cairns. And later in the game Gomer lasers a goal of his own.

And of course it was a Hatrik game!

This was such a great win. Gomer's run up the ice was spectacular.

There was a 3-on-1 near the end of the game where Elias had the chance to make it 4-2 but decided to pass it way back behind him to another Devil. That chance could have meant a lot more if the Rangers found a way to tie it up, but thank god for Ozolinsh.

Well I believe Elias and Langenbrunner at/near the top of the playoff points stats for the whole league as long as the Devils were in the postseason would be what was newer.

Langenbrunner had 3 goals and 10 assists in the playoffs. The only goal I can think of at the moment was the practically empty netter off of Elias's skate pass.

While I agree his slapshot from the side on the power play isn't accurate - his wrist shot definitely is. When he gets break aways he has a great top shelf wrist shot.

The Devils at Carolina from April 11 is currently on. This was a really exciting game with an incredible finish.

While I agree with you about playing smart the entire game, I also remember Scott Stevens getting pwned by Joe Sakic a few times during the 2001 SCF. It happens. Playing defense is about balancing out the good with the bad (and sometimes the atrocious), and I think Lukowich's good play was more prevalent by far than his bad.

Yeah, I think he was the one to score that go-ahead goal in our last regular season game against Montreal. Can't wait to see that game again.

Jamie also scored the nice top shelf wrist shot in the third of last night's game to put the team ahead before Luko gave it back.
