These are two UFA's that no one really talks about much. Since the consensus is that we did a 2nd line center and defensemen, what do you think of these two players and would you consider signing them if you where Lou? In all honesty, I don’t know much about either.

I know very little about Cajanek, but I've always liked Havelid. An underrated and versatile d-man, imo. He could probably be had for under $2.75 Million, as well.

Not the best point total but maybe he can improve playing with fellow Czech Elias if he resigns. At this point we just might be better off going with Zach Parise.

If you extrapolate 71 games into 82 games you get 47 points. IMO, this is exactly the type of 2nd tier player we should be looking at. Remember that these (pro rated) 47 points were scored on one of the worst teams in the league. If we can get this guy for 1.5 - 2 million it would seem like we should do it.
Of course, I've never watched this guy play. Can anyone shed some light on his style, defensive abilities, etc.?

The only thing I really know about Cajanek is that he kills me whenever I'm against him in NHL '06.

And Kyle McLaren just about killed Cajanek in the playoffs recently...

He's doesn't get much fanfare, but he's a pretty good player, and might be one of the better bargains on the UFA market. That all being said, I'd be pretty surprised if the Blues let him go. Unless they decided to go a different direction. The only downside to him is his propensity for injuries.
