Mexico at 40/1 is a good bet.

I think Ivory Coast is a good bet.

I think Ivory Coast is a good bet.

They're the best team in the lower half for sure, but of course it's not sure if they'd get out of the group stages. If they do then watch out for them!

(They will be my #1 team as I already said) :yo:

Well, their group is the hardest.
But I wouldn't be surprised to see them through and one of the big favourites go down (Holland or Argentina).

Not gonna lie - USA at 100/1 isn't half bad

But for the double digits odds these stand out
Portugal at 25/1
Czech at 33/1

Agreed, its worth a gamble.
Sure they have a tough group, but USA is a great team too.

Define "great"..

I don't get the lovefest for the Ivory Coast, either. They have some good individuals, but they don't play the system fitted to their skills the most, do not have great chemestry and despite some decent individuals, have a rather bad defense, not to mention their goalkeeper. They didn't impress me during the Africa Cup (despite their finish) and haven't impressed me during exhibition games.

But, now that I've said that, they will probably beat Oranje 3-0.

They have impressed in their friendlies against european teams.
Since losing to France, they have been on a good streak. They salvaged a tie in Italy, tied Swtizerland, etc...
They have talented individuals, a great midfield, and they have finally played together recently.
Their worst showing was probably the Africa Cup, and they went to the final.

I prefer the odds for the best goal scorer. Ronaldo is at 11/1, pretty good odds. Cristiano Ronaldo is at 100/1, I'd be willing to make a 10$ bet on that.

Well they're ranked 5th in the world. Sure rankings can be deceiving, however they are a team moving up the ladder.

I really like O'Brien, Dempsey and Reyna in the mid-field. They posses great speed on there counter attack, as they won there qualifying group again. I see a lot of similarities to this team and Greece in 2004. Well balanced team with great youth/experience.

Keller is one of the better goalies going into the World Cup IMO. Factor in good scorers like McBride, and Olsen and there in great shape.

To me, the toughest test for that team is the Czechs. Italy sits back too much and allows others to stay in the game. States proved in the last World Cup they can play with the big boys, and it shouldnt be any different this year. There team is more prepared and better too.

Much better then the sum of it's individuals.

The US is a lot like Mexico, two of the best coached teams in the international world of football today. Both are very difficult to play against. They may not have the most talent around but you can be sure that nobody will take an easy 3 points of either of those, and both could very well surprise with a bit of luck and the odd goal going in here or there.

I would too....that line is telling me something.

1 betting place had them with the same odds as the USA and the other 3 have them with better odds :propeller

I've always wondered where you can go other than Vegas or an underground bookie to put money on odds like this. It's not like there's a spot on a Sports Select card, either.

and even if they do advance, which is a BIG if, it definately wont be as the highest seed in the group. They'd likely finish second which means a meeting with Brazil.....I wouldn't bet on the US at all.

If I was home in Australia I'd be off down to the TAB. Unfortunately in the USA gambling is not quite 'moral'.....

Anyhoo, I'd be all over the Czechs at 33/1 like white on rice.

Brazil's odds are not bad. If your gonna bet on Brazil, 3-1 is the best your gonna get.
Germany at that odds is an awful bet. Way overpriced.
Portugal do stand out, and Spain if they could ever actually do something, would be a nice bet.

Spain is 14-1 generally, but 16-1 can be had. The best price you can get on Portugal is 25-1, which is decent odds.

Indeed, portugal is much better value at 25s than spain is at 16s. I still rate the Czechs at 30s better than both, they have a very very solid team.

I think Serbian & Montenegro (100/1) looks pretty good. They are very hard to score at and are quite good technically. The might be the WC's Greece.
