Dirk316 05-25-2006, 03:07 PM plain and simple i hope Giggy is starting and Moen is reinserted
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 03:27 PM Carlyle is thinking of starting Giguere tonight.
http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/sports/atoz/article_1155355.php
Heavy Hussar 05-25-2006, 03:41 PM they need to come out like thier skates are on fire. like game 1 of the colorado series. hopefully we see a very desperate aggressive chippy nasty crushing ducks lineup.
Randall Graves* 05-25-2006, 04:06 PM I'd like the ducks to win just for the sheer fact so many kings fans have jumped on the Oilers bandwagon.
caliamad 05-25-2006, 06:02 PM Win this one for pride... show the world your better than than the 1st 3 games of this series.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 07:18 PM They just have to take this one game at a time. Don't focus on the task of winning 4 in a row, just win this one and send it back to Anaheim. Hopefully the momentum from the comeback in game 3 will carry over tonight.
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 07:39 PM Giggy will get the start. They said it on 630 Ched that Giguere led the Ducks onto the ice for the warmup.
sammyp 05-25-2006, 07:47 PM Come on guys, one game at a time. We win tonight and we go back home. Win that one and we've got ourselves a series.
sammyp 05-25-2006, 07:48 PM Giggy will get the start. They said it on 630 Ched that Giguere led the Ducks onto the ice for the warmup.
Could be a bluff, hopefully not though.
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 08:01 PM Could be a bluff, hopefully not though.
Confirmed by OLN.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 08:04 PM Hopefully he's healthier than he was against Calgary.
This is it, the cap is going off.
Thresher 05-25-2006, 08:27 PM mmmm Ketchup
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 08:27 PM PENNER! Ketchup MOJO!
BowDown2Chistov 05-25-2006, 08:29 PM u guys and the ketchup, does anyone else hate the oln annoncers?
The ketchup is working! Pour it on!
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:32 PM gotta shoot better there. 5-2 but no goal could come back to haunt you.
Spitfire11 05-25-2006, 08:34 PM gotta shoot better there. 5-2 but no goal could come back to haunt you.
McDonald's shots were all peewee hard.
Good luck guys, I hope you can pull through.
Osprey 05-25-2006, 08:34 PM If McDonald is going to be a shooter there on the powerplay, he needs to get the puck off of the ice. He had two chances to score there, but made the saves pretty easy for Roloson.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:38 PM but the cross ice passes were a tad slow as well, gave roloson ample time to slide across the crease. but yeah, had mcdonald put some air under those shots he had only roloson's leg to shoot over.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:43 PM penner scores 2-0 ducks.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 08:44 PM PENNER LOVES ketchup! 2-0! Ketchup MOJO.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:46 PM ohhh selanne almost. that could've killed off the game.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:48 PM another great chance. 2 on 1. ducks applying great pressure.
pp ducks.
skariya18 05-25-2006, 08:49 PM ohhh selanne almost. that could've killed off the game.
Sorry to say, but a 3-0 led is not safe in this game or any game.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:49 PM Another 5 on 3. Gotta take advantage of this one.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:50 PM goal getslaf. 3-0 ducks.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 08:51 PM GETZLAF! FINALLY the PP scores.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 08:52 PM Best opening period ducks could've hoped for. Total Domination.
McDonald19 05-25-2006, 08:54 PM If the Ducks keep playing like this and take things one period at a time one game at a time...who knows, they could really pull this off.
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 08:54 PM The Ducks are playing brilliantly. Way to shut up the loud mouth fans in Edmonton. But the damn fans don't want to seem to shut up yet.
One more on the PP would be brilliant. Not to jynx it, but the Oilers don't have the mental and physical ability to come back from a deficiet in this game. Knock on wood.
devils1983 05-25-2006, 08:55 PM The Ducks are playing brilliantly. Way to shut up the loud mouth fans in Edmonton. But the damn fans don't want to seem to shut up yet.

They were down 3-0 in a game against the Red Wings and came back to win....don't count out the Oilers.
Osprey 05-25-2006, 08:55 PM The goal is nice, but they really need to do better with 2-man advantages. They should've had two goals.
ahahaha Edmonton fans on another board a whining over ******** penalties
Funny in the new nhl isnt it that the penalties get called on the team that ISNT skating?
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 08:57 PM They were down 3-0 in a game against the Red Wings and came back to win....don't count out the Oilers.
But was the team sick? That was the first round.
Haha, go into the Oilers forum and the first thing I expected was the blame. The refs. Funny how that works.
banana phone 05-25-2006, 08:58 PM Getzlaf is becomming one of my favourite players. Going to be a dominant presence in a few years.
banana phone 05-25-2006, 08:59 PM another thing of note, Dustin Penner is going to be a star in this league once he gets a first step.
Osprey 05-25-2006, 09:02 PM ahahaha Edmonton fans on another board a whining over ******** penaltiesThey weren't complaining about the ref'ing the other night when penalties gave them a 4-0 lead. What goes around comes around. This is also a good lesson for anyone here who may've been badmouthing the ref'ing last game.
devils1983 05-25-2006, 09:03 PM But was the team sick? That was the first round.
Haha, go into the Oilers forum and the first thing I expected was the blame. The refs. Funny how that works.
No, the Oilers were healthy in the first round. What does it matter which round it was. The Wings have twice the offensive power that the Ducks do. The Oilers weren't supposed to win 2 games against the Wings.
That being said, after playing a 100 games in the "New NHL", the Oilers shouldn't be suprised as to the penalties that have been called against them. They only have themselves to blame. Hard to win games from the "sin bin".
Snap Wilson 05-25-2006, 09:04 PM Good start.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:04 PM Don't worry about Oiler fans. I'd be pissed too if the Ducks came out and played like crap.
sammyp 05-25-2006, 09:07 PM Possibly the most dominant period I've ever seen the Ducks play.
sammyp 05-25-2006, 09:08 PM 25-3 in shots.
That's ridiculous!
devils1983 05-25-2006, 09:08 PM Your team is playing like a desperate team. They know what's on the line. They are controling the game, and playing alot better defensively tonight compared to game 3.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:12 PM good penalty. don't take any chances with pisani.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:13 PM damn. 5-3 to oilers. hooking on pauhlson.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:14 PM peanlty to oilers. hooking.
Osprey 05-25-2006, 09:15 PM Scott Niedermayer was awesome on that 2-man disadvantage.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:17 PM oilers score, game on. 3-1 ducks.
ducks taking too many dumb penalties. it's the only avenue back into the game for the oilers.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:18 PM Ducks need to stay diciplined. Don't let them back in it through the power plays.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:20 PM another penalty, against the oil though. 4 on 3 ducks.
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 09:21 PM Another penalty, McDonald for goalie interference.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:21 PM Way to cry and then dive for a call Roloson.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:21 PM Jesus, another penalty. Against the ducks. What is going on. legitimate interference call.
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 09:22 PM Salei! 4-1 Ducks!
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:22 PM ducks goal. 4-1 ducks.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:23 PM Eat That Roloson! 4-1!
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:25 PM finally all power plays are over. for how long, we'll see.
banana phone 05-25-2006, 09:25 PM during that brief 3 on 3, Scott Niedermayer was just FLYING. Imagine letting him play a 3 on 3 game.. his skating... domination.
BowDown2Chistov 05-25-2006, 09:26 PM roloson is gotta be the biggest diving goalie I ever seen,
hey isent supose to be a penilty if the crowd throws stuff on the ice, they tell you that at the pound that if you toss something on the ice its a delay of game.
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 09:26 PM Oilers fans aren't chanting WE-WANT-REFS, they are chanting, YANK-ROLOSON. :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 09:29 PM Oilers score. Dammit. 4-2.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:29 PM oilers score, game on again. 4-2. nice hit by pronger on selanne to win puck, little jsg could do as it was deflected.
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 09:31 PM roloson is gotta be the biggest diving goalie I ever seen,
hey isent supose to be a penilty if the crowd throws stuff on the ice, they tell you that at the pound that if you toss something on the ice its a delay of game.
You are absolutely right, he just got hit and he went down like he died. He is a bit of a hot head, and he haa a tendancy to whine to the refs. Not the most sportsmanlike goaltender in the league.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:32 PM great save giguere.
lux_interior 05-25-2006, 09:32 PM Just got home from work. 4-2 Ducks!!!!!!!!!!!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
BowDown2Chistov 05-25-2006, 09:32 PM I like how pronger takes a shot a selanne after he goes down, dosent pronger collapse every time something hits him? or maybe thats just pucks. I hate pronger
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:33 PM ****. 4-3.
lux_interior 05-25-2006, 09:33 PM **** Laraque scores.
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 09:33 PM You've got to be kidding me.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:34 PM Settle down boys.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:34 PM who would've thought we'd see a crazier game than the last one. but here we are.
BowDown2Chistov 05-25-2006, 09:35 PM I swear we just cant beat um
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:37 PM Someone needs to reopen the ketchup bottle...
I swear we just cant beat um
We're leading 4-3, so I'd say that we're not exactly losing at this point.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:40 PM good save there by giguere on torres. gotta stem the tide.
another good save, lots of bodies in the crease, kept it out.
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 09:40 PM Someone needs to reopen the ketchup bottle...
Or at least refill it.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:41 PM a goal on the ducks pp here will do a lot to change the momentum.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:42 PM supersize that. 5 on 3 via slashing.
dare i say another must score situation.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:44 PM killed. ducks will rue these missed opportunities.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:48 PM 1 for 3 on 5 on 3s. That stat is just ready to bite the Ducks in the butt.
Lupul refills/reopens the ketchup MOJO.
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 09:49 PM Lupul scores!
Osprey 05-25-2006, 09:49 PM killed. ducks will rue these missed opportunities. It's really unacceptable the way that they're blowing their 5-on-3s. To have only one goal in 5 mins of 2-man advantage is almost pathetic. They have got to be better than this is they want back into this series.
banana phone 05-25-2006, 09:51 PM we are in for a dandy 3rd.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:51 PM penalty against ducks.
lux_interior 05-25-2006, 09:51 PM Roloson has let 5 in. Methinks he likes the taste of ketchup.
I went to pick up my son and the Ducks score. While I'm watching Edmonton scores 2. Maybe I should not watch.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 09:53 PM Lux, you are forbidden from watching. Go get some french fries with ketchup of course.
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 09:53 PM I am beginning to gain respect and really like Corry Perry. His shift with about 2:40 left, was WOW. He had total control in the Oilers end. He danced past an Oiler defenceman, and was working it well in the corners. I can't believe how great Anaheim's future is looking. Lupul, Perry, Getzlaf, Beauchomin, Penner, Ryan. Anaheim will be a force to reckon with as long as they can keep this core of players together.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 09:55 PM second period over. two goal lead, can't complain.
McDonald19 05-25-2006, 10:01 PM come on guys we can do this.
win this one and we get 2 of 3 at home and a realistic chance to come back in this series.
Zimmer12 05-25-2006, 10:03 PM First win in Rectall Place since 99'?
McDonald19 05-25-2006, 10:03 PM I'm not sold on Giguere being our goalie the rest of the series if we win this one...I would have liked Bryz's athleticism in the net on that Laraque goal. He would have attempted a big save where as Giguere just stood there.
Snap Wilson 05-25-2006, 10:05 PM Roloson has let 5 in. Methinks he likes the taste of ketchup.
Somebody ask him if he wants fries with that.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 10:19 PM a very nice uneventful five minutes elapsed...
shrudy 05-25-2006, 10:28 PM 10 minutes gone, 10 to go.
lux_interior 05-25-2006, 10:30 PM Somebody ask him if he wants fries with that.
I've got one for him.
I wonder if we can do a retroactive ketchup avatar, to somehow win game 1,2, or 3.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 10:31 PM first penalty of period to getzlaf. big kill needed here, rexall is silent now, imagine if a goal is scored.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 10:32 PM uh-oh.
5 on 3.
watch out.
shrudy 05-25-2006, 10:35 PM huge kill.
neidermeyer huge chance to end game.
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 10:37 PM PHEW. That was a HUGE kill.
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 10:45 PM Lupul scores the empty netter, sealing it up for the Ducks. Game 5 here we come!
Hockeyfan02 05-25-2006, 10:47 PM Back to the Pond. Ketchup MOJO. :handclap:
devils1983 05-25-2006, 10:48 PM The Ducks first win on Edmonton ice since 1999. Good series so far. Hoping it goes 6 games 'cause I got a ticket for game 6.
Spankatola Jamnuts 05-25-2006, 10:48 PM THAT'S Duck hockey. I'm so glad I got to see it one last time this season, just to remember what it looks like.
Ptooey! That for your "roar at the Rex".
Snap Wilson 05-25-2006, 10:48 PM Go Ducks!
Game Five
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 10:49 PM YAH DUCKS!!! GREAT WIN!!! :) :yo:
BraveSirRobin 05-25-2006, 10:49 PM Much better game, the Ducks came out with a desire to win this. Penner and Lupul had a big game. Hey, maybe this ketchup thing does work. ;)
Spankatola Jamnuts 05-25-2006, 10:50 PM Suck it, "we don't want to fly back to Anaheim" Pronger, you Frankenstein-looking horse's ***.
lol
He's an ugly man, inside and out.
midg14* 05-25-2006, 10:50 PM Ducks in 7!!!
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 10:50 PM :biglaugh:

LOL, Oil in 6 at the game I'll be at so I can see the Campbell Trophy being awarded, LOL.
We all owe this to the power of ketchup.
devils1983 05-25-2006, 10:53 PM Well all owe this to the power of ketchup.
Isn't Heinz's motto "good things come to those who wait??" Seems kinda fitting for your group. :)
Melbourne Ice 05-25-2006, 10:53 PM Well done, ketchup boys... get them again back at the Pond!
Randall Graves* 05-25-2006, 10:54 PM dominating performance here tonight. Scotty showed why he get's paid what he does, he was great.
Penner shows flashes of being a dominant power forward. Glad to see him with Teemu instead of Lupul.
Gotta like the young guys a great core and I think it was important for the kids to win atleast 1 game.
Giguere was alright, made a few high quality saves.
If we win game five this is a whole new series.
Laus723 05-25-2006, 10:55 PM Put away the brooms...great job Ducks!!!
Love cheering for the Ducks, would love to see the Niedermayer brothers win it together.
Jerky Leclerc 05-25-2006, 10:57 PM Penner is just a monster. We need Getzlaf to start playing the same.
Randall Graves* 05-25-2006, 11:03 PM 9 goals on rolo in 4 periods. maybe they found something on him, he's got a bit of Giguere in him in that he could meltdown or get frustrated.
I also noticed the Ducks started using the Oilers going down quickly against them as the broadcasters pointed out.
was it just me or was there alot of diving?

Roloson's dive stands out to me...maybe he forgot to change his diaper. :D (Mind you, it was indeed a penalty, but Roloson dived).

I'll try to make you one man. Hold on a second.
Heavy Hussar 05-25-2006, 11:09 PM just bought my tickets off ticketmaster :D
Jerky Leclerc 05-25-2006, 11:17 PM Anyone else impressed with how the kids responded in this game? Penner with two. Lupul with two. And Getzlaf with one. This team is going to be awesome in a few years.
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 11:20 PM Hey rally, enjoy! :D
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 11:22 PM Anyone else impressed with how the kids responded in this game? Penner with two. Lupul with two. And Getzlaf with one. This team is going to be awesome in a few years.

I blasted through three layers of undershorts when Penner walked around Pronger.
F Pronger.

Carlyle has alot of confidence in all 3 of them right now. You really notice it in Getzlaf, he is playing 4 on 4 situations, was out on the 4 on 3, and was 1 minute away from leading all of our centers in ice time.
I liked Giguere saying he was average after the game and will be better next time. It will be interesting to see what oilers team shows up in Anaheim. Will they be thinking of game 6 at home or will they come out hard.
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 11:27 PM The Duck goals: :)
D. PENNER (2) Unassisted EV.
D. PENNER (3) T. SELANNE (7) T. MARCHANT (8) EV.
R. GETZLAF (3) A. MCDONALD (7) S. NIEDERMAYER (8) on the PP.
R. SALEI (3) S. O'DONNELL (3) T. GOD (3) EV.
J. LUPUL (8) T. MARCHANT (9) EV.
J. LUPUL (9) T. MARCHANT (10) R. GETZLAF (4) EV/EN.
Ducks outshoot the Oilers 46-23 including 25 shots alone in the first period!!! :yo:
Randall Graves* 05-25-2006, 11:32 PM Marchant has earned his salary in the playoffs
Ducksforcup 05-25-2006, 11:36 PM Marchant has earned his salary in the playoffs
Seriously. He is tied for the team lead in points with 13, is one of our better faceoff men, brings great speed and heart, and is a great defensive forward (Leads team in plus/minus with a +11).
He has defitnetley earned his salary and more!!!
Cerebral 05-25-2006, 11:37 PM Good game guys, the Ducks dominated the Oilers in the first worse than I've seen all season long.
ktulu98 05-25-2006, 11:38 PM goood game...
i almost got heart-attack in second period, and i look 5 years older ;)
if we will play like this we can make it 4:3
kenabnrmal 05-25-2006, 11:43 PM Dammit did that ever feel good. Niedermayer had a great game, Selanne played great early creating chances and getting the assist on Penner's, and the rookies were AWESOME! Getzlaf and Penner with the goals, and Perry was dangerous all night long. Lupul was good, Marchant was good, Rob N. owned the cycle. Just a great game all around. Giguere was pretty good. Can't say he had much of a chance on any of the goals, though he wasn't as unbeatable as he has the ability to be.
I really, really wanted to make them make the trip back to Anaheim. Who knows what will happen in game five, but I am very confident in the Ducks' ability to take it. Everyone's talking about the flu bug, and keep in mind that the Oilers haven't had a break since the last series. Eventually thats going to catch up to them. I'mnot going to speculate on the series, its such a long road. But, hell, I think the boys can take the next one too!
I love this team. Top to bottom they have as much heart and desire as anyone.

yeah even when you're 'better' from the flu it still takes a while before you get you're lungs back if you're an endurance athlete.
If they can win game five that will put alot of the pressure on the oilers, that's for sure.
soya_sauce_chicken 05-26-2006, 12:24 AM Great win fellas..
great win
now let's win Saturday!!
Spankatola Jamnuts 05-26-2006, 12:35 AM Certainly the most fun team we've ever had to watch. As excited as I am for our future I really hate for this season and our chemistry to end.
snarktacular 05-26-2006, 12:41 AM This is probably just shows how little I get to watch Ducks games, but when did Jiggy start using that mask? Last I remember it was a duck with his wing over his face like a caped superhero.
stalbert1 05-26-2006, 12:41 AM Amazing effort especially by our kids, Lupul,Penner,Getzlaf and Perry were a threat almost everytime they were out there. I hope to see more offense from vets Pahlsson and Rob Niedermayer though in the next game in Anaheim.
Does anyone know if Penner still qualifies as a rookie for next season??? :dunno:
lux_interior 05-26-2006, 01:36 AM I credit the win to moneyp's ketchup avatars. It really changed the momentum.
bleuer 05-26-2006, 02:43 AM ketchup = god?
OilerOlli* 05-26-2006, 03:17 AM No Problem. Saturday all will be over!
SenorDingDong 05-26-2006, 06:31 PM how many 5 on 3's were in that game? 4-5??
Ducksforcup 05-26-2006, 06:42 PM how many 5 on 3's were in that game? 4-5??
I think there were 4.
Osprey 05-26-2006, 06:44 PM No Problem. Saturday all will be over!Posting that here is not very classy.
caliamad 05-26-2006, 11:17 PM In the spirit of ketchup, I think all Mighty Duck fans should have ketchup with every meal until they are eliminated.
Good mojo boys.
