At this point doing a ketchup rally avatar seems somewhat reasonable, don't know why though.

I first heard Selanne mentioned the ketchup theory after Lupul scored 4 goals. Since the Ducks have had problems scoring against Roloson, Selanne has been preaching the ketchup theory every day like it is a new religion. Its giving the young players and fans alot of faith that the Ducks can come back in this series.

The ketchup bottle thingy is an old funny from one of Finland's National Team coaches from the mid 90s and Teemu played in his teams as well. When Finland had trouble burying chances, then got a few Curre always talked about "the ketchup bottle phenomenon", since when you squeeze a bottle of ketchup and nothing comes out and you squeeze harder and harder when finally something comes out, it usually does so in quantity, ****ing ketchup everywhere.

So when Finland got past a phase when nothing went in and suddenly BANG FLOODGATES OPEN 12 goals in two games it was the Ketchup Bottle! People still refer to it during national tournaments.

We need to clinch the playoffs first. This site (http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Western/Pacific/Ducks.html) puts us at 97.7% to make the playoffs, although that's not the same as clinching. At this point finishing 6-7-1 clinches us a spot on that site, so I guess our point goal right now is 13 more. Not sure what our magic number is though, but it could be close to that.

This thread kind of sucks without all the pictures since everyone's changed avatars by now. I can't remember if I put up a ketchup avatar or not.

Anyways, I believe ketchup karma has a big "use only in case of emergency" sign over it. Like if we go on a losing streak.

OT, but is anyone having problem with searches? I wanted to link to last year's playoff avatar thread just so people could go over the initial ideas and see if we could recycle anything. I searched for "playoffs" in the Anaheim forum, but it returns "1. Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

On the other hand, some searches do work. For example when I search for posts by ____, that does work.

I can find the thread easy by going back pages, but searching is pretty useful.
