obviously many of these guys will stay where they are, and this is just a perfunctory list, but it's still a rather healthy crop if you ask me. if lou wants to fill the void on D, perhaps this is the time to do it. I'd say our d could stand a visit from any of the above save chelios, poti, and maybe tarnstrom. thoughts?

I've always wanted this guy in New Jersey. Bring him here so he can show Bobby Clarke that he's an idiot for letting him go over RATHJE or HATCHER.

realistically, i think the only ones we have a shot at from that list are kubina, markov, kaberle, and mitchell
what about jay mckee? i saw somewhere that he might be a FA this summer...id love to have him here. always loved how he played
Brodeur 05-20-2006, 07:30 PM We're pretty much locked into our D for next year, unless Lou decides to make a trade. Since we're pushing the cap as is, it might be better to wait a year in free agency (in 2007, there will be some nice forwards potentially available).
Rafalski - signed for 3 more years
Matvichuk - signed for 2 more years
Lukowich - signed for one more year
White/Martin/Hale - RFA

Numinen from buffalo is available, as is keith carney too. I too like Markov for the $$
the guys at the top will be way too costly.

Exactly. Drafting some defensmen into the system is more of a priority than signing any big name blueliners. The forward position will be the position that takes up most of the Free Agent $$$ this off-season.
