Not sure but I think it might be 6. :D pei fan 05-08-2006, 03:19 PM Not sure but I think it might be 6. :D :biglaugh: I don't think so or it might have been mentioned in the news. VladNYC 05-08-2006, 03:21 PM Might be Forsberg pei fan 05-08-2006, 03:26 PM Might be Forsberg It seems to me he holds the record for scoring at WJC's but maybe he holds this one too. Crosbyfan 05-08-2006, 04:39 PM It seems to me he holds the record for scoring at WJC's but maybe he holds this one too. So Forsberg was on Swedens 1992 Gold medal team? Edit:http://www.swehockey.se/files/%7BA062C785-4658-40CE-85C8-A49E6CF814C8%7D.pdf Looks like 6 points Riddarn 05-08-2006, 04:47 PM So Forsberg was on Swedens 1992 Gold medal team? Yeah. He scored 4 goals and 2 assists in that tournament. Not super-productive but he the goals he scored were pretty clutch. Crosbyfan 05-08-2006, 04:49 PM Yeah. He scored 4 goals and 2 assists in that tournament. Not super-productive but he the goals he scored were pretty clutch. 6 points and a gold medal. Thats production enough! Sampe 05-08-2006, 05:37 PM Olli Jokinen scored 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games back in 1997. I'm very, very certain however that 6 points ain't the record. pei fan 05-09-2006, 08:02 AM Olli Jokinen scored 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games back in 1997. I'm very, very certain however that 6 points ain't the record. Well, if it was,it probably won't be after today. :D Ola 05-09-2006, 09:20 AM Ha I found the record! Who is the man??? Robert Reichel - 11 points! http://www.eurohockey.net/players/show_player.cgi?serial=13053 I remember that the Czech had a all 18 y/o line in 1990. Robert "bobby" Holik-Robert Reichel-Jaromir Jagr. They had 11, 6 and 5 points. Ola 05-09-2006, 09:26 AM Though what should be noted is that the format of the tournament have changed allot over the years. Before there where often only 8 teams in the A pool, and one of them wheren't slovakia. So there where 8 good teams and only two "bad". Often Germany and Switzerland. So each good team would only play a bad team once. I think that where the case for example when Forsberg scored his 6 points. Forsberg also have the record in the WJC, that time it where the other way around, he scored like 10 points against Japan. johnny_rudeboy 05-09-2006, 09:55 AM Japaner, japaner, japaner DayWalk3r 05-09-2006, 11:10 AM Though what should be noted is that the format of the tournament have changed allot over the years. Sidney was born Aug. 7, 1987, so that would make him the 4th youngest (18y, 9m, 28d) ever to play for Team Canada. Sorry for the mistake. 66-29-33 05-09-2006, 09:09 PM Spezza played at the WJC at 16 did he not/ or was that 18? anyway 16 is pretty young to be in the WJC's so obviously he must be pretty good. ;) Doomsday Device 05-09-2006, 10:37 PM You are absolutely correct, my apologies for the faulty math calculations. Sidney was born Aug. 7, 1987, so that would make him the 4th youngest (18y, 9m, 28d) ever to play for Team Canada. Sorry for the mistake. Actually, Jeff Friesen was born in 1976 so he would be 19 years old if he played first in 1996. And Crosby is a month younger than you have listed, so he would be the second youngest behind Kariya. Thanks for posting the information though. :) Form and Substance 05-09-2006, 11:11 PM Those are amazing numbers for an 18 year old entering his draft year. I'm talking about Kariya of course. | ||
