Jenson 05-07-2006, 10:45 PM Ovechkin - Malkin
or
Bergeron - Crosby
Consider top scoring and likelihood of being named to the 1st overall team in the tournament as judging criteria.
Throw any other names into the hat who could compete.
Muscle Bob 05-08-2006, 12:52 AM It's gonna be another Ovechkin - Crosby thread, but anyway, I vote for Ovechkin - Malkin

I would also vote for Ovechin- Malkin duo. The Crosby- Bergeron duo has played great also. They will probably go neck and neck the whole tourny for the scoring lead.

Dunno, I haven't seen Crosby - Bergeron game yet..
P.S
Nice avatar :yo:

;)
With a little assist from Malkin!
x Goodwill x 05-08-2006, 03:45 AM Crosby Bergeron and Boyes. :)
Coffee and 7's* 05-08-2006, 06:59 AM They are all great young players :yo:
Canada - Crosby& Bergeron
Russia - Malkin& Ovechkin
Sweden - Fredrik Enwall and Björn Melin! :yo:
All three of the big hockey nations have great duos for the future. Its a toss up between the three, I'll take swedens. Our future looks promising...

I think your future looks less promising... Sweden has sucked in every junior tournament so far. All three big hockey nations??? That is funny. Czech Republic for example is a much bigger hockey nation than sweden.

Sweden is merely ranked #1, so they cannot be very good.

I guess you haven't noticed the crying face in Ola's post. She wasn't serious...

Its irony. The swedish paper are gooing on and on about how this team is our future. Enwall for example, who is really unexperienced, is 30 years old. Melin is OK but still not exactly the future of anything. Bäckström who very well might be a great player was left of the roster. My point was while every other team are building for the future we bring on a ton of SEL veterans and leave the future out.

My apologies! I was talking to a friend while typing and wasn't thinking... :speechles
Best duo is Tuomo & Jarkko ruutu :yo: Watch out boys they're coming to get you :help:
Sampe 05-08-2006, 05:44 PM The top duo? Dunno, but the duo of Petteri Nummelin and Jussi Jokinen will break the record of most wasted breakaways in a tournament. Just watch.

If the Ruutu brothers keep playing a physical game and igniting their teammates, the Finnish team will definitely go far.
I think Tuomo has something to prove after missing most of the season. I thought Hawks management would dissuade him from playing. He is up for the challenge, and someone I expect to have a dominating performance. I hope his injuries become a thing of the past.
Tb0ne 05-09-2006, 03:27 AM Ovechkin and Malkin might have more talent combined than Crosby and Bergeron combined.. but still that's not all of what makes a great duo.
Let's see which pair has had the biggest impact by the end of this.
Gozer 05-09-2006, 05:32 AM Zetterberg and Nylander (If they get to play togheter)
Panopticon 05-09-2006, 11:06 AM I'm afraid it's going to be Crosby - Bergeron. Russians can't play together in tight games.

Yeah, this I agree with... I just hope the refs won't throw them out of the important games since I don't believe Finland can handle five minute PK's against the tougher teams.
Aki Berg 05-09-2006, 11:46 AM Yeah, this I agree with... I just hope the refs won't throw them out of the important games since I don't believe Finland can handle five minute PK's against the tougher teams.

Aki Berg plays D for the Finns.

To be honest, Aki has looked quite awful at times on the 1st pairing with Nummelin. I say just give him the familiar 6th defenceman spot.
magical hippo 05-09-2006, 02:01 PM Another vote for the Ruutu brothers. I don't like injuring players, I believe in sportmanship, but I really like their hard energetic style.
bastone 05-09-2006, 04:00 PM Bergeron-Crosby :handclap:
Brad Tolliver 05-09-2006, 06:13 PM Aki Berg-Petteri Nummelin
I might actually be serious here.

I'd say, Crosby - Bergeron will get this1.

Why wouldn't anyone here take you seriously with that statement?
You're right on the money.
Pat yourself on the back.
