...but I just got to see Watford win away to Crystal Palace in the first leg of the Championship Playoff semi-final. Winning 3-0 has really put us within sight of Cardiff!
Any other Football League fans out there? Anyone pulling for PNE? I'd love to see Watford vs. Preston in the Final (nothing specifically against Leeds, just a smaller-club sort of thing).

Yes, it looks like it'll be a Watford-PNE final for the biggest game in club football (in straight financial terms).
As a Palace fan I have to say, that should've been a straight red on Demerit for pulling Morrison back when clear on goal but the referee bottled it. All three of Watford's goals were very good though. Just seemed to be their day. Hopefully Watford believe they're already through. Palace definitely have the firepower to score three to come back.. I thought we were very unlucky not to score at least once today.
I'm half wanting Palace or Watford to go up as it means a more local potential away game for me to go to, but I can't pretend it wouldn't be nice to have Chelsea vs Leeds back on the fixtures list either.
On a side, I've always liked Matt Spring.

You know, I'll have to give you that. It was a foul and I guess if it was a foul, it was a red card. The ref was horrendous throughout. Apparently he's been awful all season.

Yeah, he was pretty bad. I didnt like a single one of the bookings he did make too - and most of those were Watford players I think so I dont think I'm being too biased saying that. Im not trying to say the referee decided that game though - Watford were clearly the better team on the day. Just wish the score was 3-1 or 2-1 :)

We could make this a total love-in, but in all honesty, it was a game of two halves, we scraped through the first and came through in the second.
Leaving it at that: what about Leeds?! I'm honeslty relieved, because I think for either of our two sides, Preston would have been a tougher opponent, regardless of the size of the club.
Then again, it's hard to gauge these things from New York...

Well I was sure Preston would win.. they looked much stronger defensively in the first game and have been great in defense all year. Plus Leeds are media darlings so its good to become the underdog in the playoffs even if you did finish 3rd.
Congrats on going through - cant argue Watford were the better team overall. If you do get promoted, hopefully you can afford some ball boys! Boothroyd is a promising manager, but I lost a lot of respect for him over that incident. I hope he is severely punished as you just cant have a manager doing that, even though he apologised after the game.
Thanks.
I agree, it was an unbelievably silly thing to do, but I doubt he's going to be severely punished at all in the end, whether he deserves to be or not. I have no idea what he was thinking of. He hasn't put a foot wrong all season and now he's put us in jeopardy of losing Darius Henderson for the final. Based on what I've learnt about Boothroyd this season, be toughest on himself, though.
