A big upset like that would be nice! ;) Slovaks are getting frustrated. helloutsi 05-06-2006, 11:37 AM And Belarus hold on to take a 2-1 win. Montréal Russians 05-06-2006, 11:41 AM why isnt Kostitsyn on the roster? SwisshockeyAcademy 05-06-2006, 11:45 AM Big big win. MrAlfie 05-06-2006, 11:45 AM what a disgrace... they should be ashamed.. especially hossa CH Wizard* 05-06-2006, 11:47 AM why isnt Kostitsyn on the roster? He maybe hasn't arrived there yet. :dunno: SIBIR 05-06-2006, 11:54 AM :handclap: congrats to BelaRus! TORRUS 05-06-2006, 12:10 PM OMG, this is getting scary! First they beat Canada few days ago and now Slovakia. Small teams are going to start beating big teams on a regular basis now. Very happy for Belarus! Congrats! :handclap: Azdinator 05-06-2006, 12:17 PM Mezin is impressive, I would easily give an ivitation to him for a NHL training camp if I were a General manager :D 1991 05-06-2006, 12:37 PM Mezin is impressive, I would easily give an ivitation to him for a NHL training camp if I were a General manager :D Mezin is 32. He is an impressive goaltender, but I think at this time he'd rather stay put. Azdinator 05-06-2006, 01:08 PM Mezin is 32. He is an impressive goaltender, but I think at this time he'd rather stay put. Cristo Huet is 31 and he did awesome play this season, I don't think that Mezin is old. 1991 05-06-2006, 01:12 PM Cristo Huet is 31 and he did awesome play this season, I don't think that Mezin is old. Yes, however Cristobal was a late round gamble back in 2001 selected by LA, which ended up in favour of the Montreal Canadiens this season. Montréal Russians 05-06-2006, 02:49 PM Honestly... wheres AK? (Andrei Kostitsyn) Marc the Habs Fan 05-06-2006, 02:56 PM Honestly... wheres AK? (Andrei Kostitsyn) http://www.ihwc.net/english/article/recaps/index.ihwc?&artId=2250 From the article, right at the bottom: Hanlon said forward Andrei Kostitsyn is here but won't practice, but will play in the next game for Belarus. MMX 05-06-2006, 03:10 PM Honestly... wheres AK? (Andrei Kostitsyn) Kostitsyn is going to arrive from Moscow tomorrow. Not sure why he took that route though. :dunno: Edit: that's what they said on TV during the game. The article above says that he's already in Riga. Hmmm... I'd go with TV source. If Kostitsyn were at practice, I'm pretty sure he'd play. MMX 05-06-2006, 03:17 PM Mezin is impressive, I would easily give an ivitation to him for a NHL training camp if I were a General manager :D I second that! How he hasn't played in NHL yet is beyond my understanding. Put some defense in front of him and watch out! MMX 05-06-2006, 03:28 PM what a disgrace... they should be ashamed.. especially hossa I wouldn't be so radical. Under Glen Hanlon's watch, Belarus became really resilient team that battles for every puck. Add Andrei Mezin and opportunistic offense and guess what? they'll keeep it close every game. Just check out last year's WC. e-e 05-06-2006, 04:02 PM congrats to big win....so glad i couldn't see the game :D Locks 05-06-2006, 04:07 PM Hi MMX, How did Misha Grabovsky look in the game aside from orchestrating the winner? Did he play centre or wing? Do you know if Hanlon intends to put Kostitsyn on his line once Andrei is ready to play? MMX 05-06-2006, 05:15 PM Hi MMX, How did Misha Grabovsky look in the game aside from orchestrating the winner? Did he play centre or wing? Do you know if Hanlon intends to put Kostitsyn on his line once Andrei is ready to play? Hi Locks, I posted my take on Grabovsky's game in Montreal's board. You can find it here: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?p=5446157. As for Andrei Kostitsyn, it's a tough call. Not sure if Hanlon will put him on the first line right from get-go. Perhaps, we'll see them together on the powerplay. motojime 05-06-2006, 06:07 PM Wow, that's a surprise! Congrats to BLR fans. montreal 05-06-2006, 07:31 PM Hi MMX, How did Misha Grabovsky look in the game aside from orchestrating the winner? Did he play centre or wing? Do you know if Hanlon intends to put Kostitsyn on his line once Andrei is ready to play? At last years WJC's, Kostitsyn joined the team later on after the Dogs were bounced from the AHL playoffs. First Hanlon put Kostitsyn on the 2nd line with Grabovsky already playing center on the top line but the next game he moved Kostitsyn up to his line on the PP, if I recall correctly from watching the games on webcast, too bad they aren't doing it this year. Oh and congrats to Belarus. :yo: :handclap: Montréal Russians 05-06-2006, 07:33 PM Belarus is slowly gaining some assets. gamera 05-06-2006, 09:33 PM i'm curious what percentage of team slovakia players returned from the olympic team they were 5-0 until the elimination rounds.... Montréal Russians 05-07-2006, 12:22 AM The percentage is low... and they have i think 1 defence man from the Olympics and their best 2 defenceman are battling for Ottawa, also their top goalie Budaj is with Colorado. 12# Peter Bondra 05-07-2006, 05:45 AM i'm curious what percentage of team slovakia players returned from the olympic team they were 5-0 until the elimination rounds.... 7 players Kapus, Marcel Hossa, Marian Hossa = 3 F's 2 D's = Jurcina and Strbak 2 G's = Krizan and Lasak | ||
