The providence game is home. Lou last night and the star ledger today said that's what Zajac was going to do and i'm pretty sure the grand forks herald yesterday said it too but I'm not 100% positive.

Why not use B2 Network to watch the game? I mean sure it costs a lot and the quality is crap, but you might be able to distinguish Zajac from the other blurry images on the screen. :dunno:

He played a real physical game, and is surprisiginly strong for someone of his size. He ran at quite a few bigger guys and actually knocked them down. Great speed, too. Plays a lot like Brian.

Lines were jumbled all night.

Zajac was ok. He wasn't spectacular, but he wasn't bad. He put in a decent performance, but wasn't overly impressive. Good on faceoffs, was a bit physical, made some safe plays, had one or two chances, made no real mistakes.

I dunno. I know I've only seen him in one game and looked at the box score for another, but I think Littler Gio has scoring potential. He is just so fast, and creates a ton of chances with his speed. He is all over the ice. Maybe it was just a flukey two games, but I am really liking this kid.

This is just strange to have such success in three games. I know he can't sustain it over a season (2ppg, who can?) but it's looking less and less like a fluke.

He is a hard hard working centerman, he hits, grinds and fights for the puck with his every breath. His stint in the AHL shows he can pot a few.

Thanks for the scoop, honestly I think there's either a bidding war for Collins going on right now (I heard from someone who talked to him that he wants to go to Buffalo since he's from Rochester I think, not too reliable, but take it for what it's worth plus I hear Boston is interested) or the kid feels like he's getting low-balled (because his last year was SO much better than previous years, I can see teams being cautious). If I had to guess it's probably the former.

As for Stephen, the Devils usually like to give younger bros a shot and being nice to Stephen may mean keeping Brian cheaper and longer...we won't make the Niedermayer mistake again, you can bank on it.

Hopefully not. From watching Gionta for 2 years at BC I feel safe to say that he is one of those people who will be a good AHL player, but suck as a regular. If he comes anywhere near our lineup then we are in trouble.

Wow. You see him play in college for two years, and you automatically know that he will never be an NHLer? Stephen Gionta has been dominant so far in the AHL - the best player on the ice in the game I saw him in, and probably in the two other ones (3g, 2g).

First of all, I never said that you were wrong. I just questioned how you could be so confident in assuming he won't be an NHLer.
As is the case a lot of the time, play and point production in college isn't at all indicative of how good a player will be when he hits the pros. What exactly makes you so sure he won't be? Could you elaborate?

I know I only saw him in one game, and he scored 5 goals in the two others, but it's quite obvious to me from just that one game that he's pretty special. Unless he has problems getting motivated and often doesn't churn out consistent performances, I see no reason to believe his AHL stint is a fluke. He was amazing on the ice. Not kidding when I say he was by far the best player on the team - better than Bergfors, Zajac, etc. New Jersey obviously thinks he has NHL capability as well since they just signed him to a two-year deal.

Guys, lets remember he never scored more than 9 goals in college.........As opposed to Brian who scoring in the 30's.

I said earlier in this thread I would be shocked if makes to the NHL, but there is no reason not to root for an underdog...
