Division Standings question

I've read, on this board and others, that for the Devils to win the division, they need to win out, and they need the Rangers to lose their remaining 2 games in regulation. But, as of tonight, the standings are as follows (ignoring the Flyers for a moment, since if we win out, we pass them anyway):

Rangers - 100 points (44 wins)
Devils - 97 points (44 wins)

If the Devils win out, they finish with 101 points and 46 wins. If the Rangers end up taking one point out of their next 2 games (losing one in regulation, the other in OT/shootout), they end up with 101 points and 44 wins. Wouldn't the Devils win in this case? Or am I missing something?

I realize it's a small distinction, but I keep seeing the scenario pop up, and just got curious.

All true and the Rangers control their own destiny. If they lose both games in regulation the Devils can win and force Ot in the next 2 games and win the division. It would be a lot easier for this to happen as long as the win is against Philly. They also obviously still could win the Division.

Saturday's Flyers-Rangers match-up is key.

Here's the remaining schedule:
4/15 Flyers at Rangers

4/16 Flyers at Devils

4/18 Devils at Canadiens
4/18 Flyes at Islanders
4/18 Senators at Rangers

But if the Devils do that, the Flyers could sneak in and take the division beating the Rangers and Islanders.

Oh how very interesting things have become.
Devils 9-0
Rangers 0-3

Rangers have it pretty tough their last two games. It's defintely not out of the realm to have the Devils win the division....
