According to an inquiry made on my behalf by Mr. Belashenko of Russianprospects.com... Alex Polushin out for four months with a knee injury. Surgery to be performed Monday in Germany.

He was having such a great season thus far. Any news as to how he injured himself?

Well, hope that doesn't kill the timeline. There was a good possibility he'd be over here next year, wasn't there?

Hope he heals quickly, poor kid.

The good news is that he is getting the surgery in Germany. "In Germany" (ie not in some substandard Russian hospital) was a point of emphasis in the e-mail I got from Eugene.

I just completed a full European update for Chad which includes the part about Polushin. Its HF's scoop just like Holmqvist's miraculous recovery, you dig EE and DC?

Blasted. Sounds like an ACL/MCL tear with the four months rehab. Be healed, Alex!

Pete, does Lightning PR even know yet? I'm discovering that we often know stuff before they do.

They'd never admit it.

Have they ever cited HF as a reference before?

No, but the Times did a story on RussianProspects.com a long time ago. Chances are, given the Times' affiliation with the team and the fact the TBL.com web staff hates us it's unlike they'd ever cite us. The Trib? Maybe.

Jay Feaster is aware of Polushin's injury and awaiting further details on his surgery.
