Playoff Avatars?

Just wondering if anyone wanted to participate in a united-Devils fan avatar. Or maybe we could do something like Ottawa fans are doing...having a united banner going across a player that each person picks. Anyone interested or have any ideas? I thought it would be a cool idea...I remember a couple years back we did the Langenfluffer bet w/ Philly or Boston fans(I forget which)...haha good times.

I'm not particularly good with photoshop myself...but I like the idea of everyone picking one player and then having some kind of banner placed on the picture and use of an avatar...

I'll edit the 1st post with a list of ever poster who wants to take part in this and what player they chose.

Edit: What should we use for the banner or common symbol on the avatars?

They have decent sized thumbnails, but watermarks on the larger images. It doesn't matter really because the limits here are 125X125, which is a pretty big avatar size.

I have to confess. I was directly responsible for that playoff challenge with Bruins fans the year the Devils last won the cup. Boston fans had to sport our avatars for the duration of the Devs playoff run which went the whole distance. PEli's John Madden makes Joe Thornton his bride at the alter still makes me laugh to no end. Funniest thing I've ever seen on these boards imo. Good times.

Wow u just brought back some serious memories. Its crazy a lot of posters from back then aren't around anymore. Guys liek BigBully, svieglar (i still see him on occasion) jerzydevil, and PEli I don't see much either. I'm sure theres a lot more i'm forgetting. I must confess even I have disappeared a lot this season (busy w/ school, girlfriend, friends, and work). I've missed more games this year than the last 3 NHL seasons combined.

Since I'm pretty sure that no-one wants to be Darren Langdon or Ken Klee, I have a simple request. please use that standard .psd to create an avatar of Pat Burns with his picture, his name on the side, and instead of "Devils' time of year" the words "Semper Diaboli" on the bottom.

The same might be done for, John McMullen, Ken Daneyko, Patrik Sundstrom, Bruce Driver, or any others.

But I'd like Pat Burns.

What about Devils former player and current broadcaster (star of Dano's Den,) Ken Daneyko? I could make a switching avatar with him holding the Stanley Cup as well as his Banner Ceremony or a broadcast picture.

Also, I will make a cool double Bill Murray like the Chico Resch. It will feature the Devils longtime trainer Bill Murray as well as the famed actor at Game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals giving the Devils-horn sign.

The last thing, anyone is welcome to my Scott Clemmensen if they like it. I will switch to someone else, Lukowich will likely get significant playing time.

Well even though he has played with the Devils for not even a month, I have taken a liking to Lukowich. He will be a part of the postseason. If someone can send me an avatar I will take Lukowich for the stretch and beyond.

Here are more that I have made, but couldn't post this morning. I only did the actor Bill Murray in the Devils trainer's avatar because the legendary comedian was at Game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals and he waived Devils horns.

Stan suggested to Pat Burns in 2003-04 that the Devils put Friesen on the point for power plays, but Coach Burns didn't like the idea. Coach Lamoriello has found success with Langenbrunner on the point of the Devils umbrella.

Again these are just ideas if anybody else is wants to join in on this. If these are not good ideas then I understand. But Dano's Den provides good input and he is an idolized figure as a Forever Devil.

This picture is from the last 1990's, so it is likely that he is one of the operators in the picture I used.

That is not corny. That is a good idea. Maybe Puddy or Fighter of Foo can make one up for you of the mascot. This is why I was trying to assist in thinking of other options as an avator to join the fun. Like minor league prospects. Clemennsen and Langdon I believe are still available. According to Ranger fans Rob Shick handed us a win on Sunday night. Maybe you can use him!!! (sarcasm)

Other ideas (not sure how relevant they are to the post season upon us) are the Newark Arena, the CAA, Arlette who sings the Star Spangled Banner, or a Cup Crazy, or My NHL avator or an avator of a clump of fans cheering in the crowd.
