He is prone to make monumental defensive errors, the type where everyone in the building knows the goal was his fault......lost count of the amount of times he has been stripped of the puck(as the last man back) after over stickhandling. Also tends to make some soft passes, some of which have been picked off for breakaway attemps going the other way.

On the positive side he clearly has some good skills, Richmond is a strong skater and uses his legs effectively to jump into the play and become an offensive weapon on the rush. His shot seems to be very heavy and he has good control of his shooting accuracy aswell. He is also good along the end boards in his own zone and strong out front of the net, this is because he is a scrappy player who despite his average size can play a rugged physical game.

Richmond needs to learn to make the easy play when bringing the puck out of his zone, rather than trying to stickhandle it out himself, and he should work to improve his passing.......other than that a fairly solid offensive defenceman.
