Well that's one of the awards he won.
I'm a huge Yandle fan, no apologies. But do you think down the road he'll be one of those guys talked about like Ray Bourque, Potvin, Robinson.......etc.
I think he's got all the tools, hopefully the desire and can stay away from injuries.
The only knock I have on him is he wants the puck too much.
Now I'm no expert on talent like some on this board but I've watched alot of hockey over the years, and he is probably one of the best D guys I've seen live.
Coyotes didn't waste a 2nd round pick on him for sure.

Phoenix took him in the 4th.

An excellent pick.

he needs to be taught when to turn on the jets and when to play it safe. his defensive play needs to be fine tuned - still gives up the puck alot in the defensive zone. he's got everything else though. if the coyotes can get get him a good coach and mentor on the farm, he should turn into a top 4 defenseman in the NHL - no prob. a faster bryan mccabe.

Jumping the gun with the top 4 in the league. I'll say top 5 :sarcasm:

i meant top 4 on an NHL team, not the league. he's not THAT good, but as a coyotes fan i'm hoping :)

Yess... i wonder. What was that coach's name again? :sarcasm:
Going into next year he's one of the top 3 Phx prospects im investing lots of hope in.

Ted Nolan, when he was in Buffalo went to the Sabres' president at the time and told him the GM (Muckler I think) wasn't doing his job. He's been blacklisted ever since.

This is what I heard.

IMHO, Yandle has all the skills to be a solid pro but he has got to stop calling for the puck so much. I swear he spends so much time waving his stick in the air ("I'm open!! I'm open!!"), his arms must be exhasted after every shift.

Between that and waving his arms in the air after scoring he would definitely be tired.

No worries, once he is not the guy he will slow that down.

Yandle is certainly special. He is in constant motion on the pp. He has a nice blend of speed, agility and smarts. Frankly, I like a player who wants the puck. I do think his name could well end up in the short list of elite D men in the NHL.

As far as Nolan goes...If I remember correctly, after his falling out in Buffalo, he specifically let it be known he did not want the expansion Tampa Bay coaching position. Coaches and owners, but mainly GMs thought he had a cavalier attitude and was essentially blacklisted.

Ted Nolan kills me. The guy is honest to a fault. Diogenes wouldn't need his lamp to find "one honest man" if he was in Moncton.
