Both teams have been playing well lately. This won't be easy but I didn't think Anaheim would be able to Win in Dallas the other night... so I think the Ducks could get this win - just play a similar game as you guys did against the Stars.

He didn't play the last game in LA. Also missed most of the SJ game.

I'm an Avs fan in Camarillo, CA on business. Can someone tell me if I can hear the game on the radio up here? I'm not counting on it, I couldn't even hear the LA game on Monday... they actually had a freekin' San Francisco radio station on AM 710.

It's really hard to get stations from Orange County and even LA on the radio in Ventura County. I'm afraid your out of luck.

Hayward just said no Travis Moen tonight. Too bad, I liked his physical presence in the 2 games he played.

Sounds like there might be a three man rotation in and out of the lineup between Hedstrom, Kunitz, Moen.

It's not Giguere's fault. Carlyle is pulling Giguere to get the defense to play better and not so sloppy in their own zone.

They have burried 3 goals over his shoulder, basically perfect shots. 2 of the 3 Giguere did not even see because of screens.

Is Jiggy really at fault? Or is the team just playing terrible?

No to the first question. Yes and no to the 2nd question. Giguere didn't have much of a chance on the first one, perfect Sakic wrist shot with Brunette blocking Giguere's view. 2nd goal was a turnover and Mcclean put a nice shot after the crossing pass bounced over Salei's breakup attempt. 3rd goal was a bad turnover and the Avs picked up the loose puck and scored with traffic in front of Giggy. Team is playing a bit sloppy, but not 3-0 sloppy. Avs are just converting on every scoring chance.

that's tough...depends if Burke adds any UFA's. And Burke has to re-sign Selanne...and the lesser known UFA Konopka.

I think Lupul is going to be asked to try Left Wing in training camp though.

Lupul-McDonald-Selanne
Penner or a UFA-Getzlaf-Perry
Marchant-Pahlsson-Niedermayer
Fedoruk-Konopka-Moen/Kunitz

Hedstrom hopefully goes back to Sweden, only because we have too many third liners. I hope Marchant is not our 2nd line center next season, he is out of place there. Chistov is a wildcard, if he comes over and has a great training camp he could be in the 2nd line leftwing spot.

second is... WHAT A TEAM! what a comeback. I'm sure I wasn't the only saying oh **** when the ducks were down 3-0 and 4-1. This teams character absolutely amazes me, they could have mailed it in but they kept working.

Johnathan Hedstrom...deserved the chance to win the game, he was outstanding all game. Scott Niedermayer should be credited with an assist because he made a great pass.

Speaking of 27...this guy amazes me with how good he is, he helped carry this team on his back like a true superstar..and he certainly is one.

Chris Kunitz...welcome back, you disappeared for a while but you played an outstanding game.

Just the usual from Andy Mac and Teemu Selanne tonight.

first 10 minutes the ducks played well except for 3 or 4 plays...and the avs scored on them, after that the ducks played mostly mistake free hockey.

Just a wonderful hockey game to watch, the refs let the players play and they put on a show.

I hope we don't hang Jiggy out to dry next game, but Carlyle did the right thing. It wasn't necessarily his fault, but he didn't look sharp either. Props to bryz he did a solid job.

You can see it now, these guys totally believe in the team, the system, and each other. It's beautiful to watch.

Only downside tonight was Giggy getting shelled, though it's not like they were horrific goals.

Getzlaf's power-play goal was his eighth, breaking the Ducks' club record for rookies that Paul Kariya set in 1994-95

WoW, very exciting second half to the game! ;) . The first period couldn't have gone worse. Colorado scores on their first 3 scoring chances while we carried the play a little bit. Great come back win. Interesting to see how long that convo between Selanne and Heddy was before he took that PS. Usually its like good luck, come on Heddy but he talked to him for like 30-45 seconds.

That tying goal was so sweet, starting by the first pass in our own zone by Scotty Nieds. After that tic tac toe. Getzlaf was manning the point on the 2nd PP unit, he had some trouble keeping the puck in but it was kind of funny to see him score the first time he touches the puck at the point.

Now one day off and then another back to back games fri/sat. :shakehead

So, does Bryz get the next gig (no pun intended) based on tonight's performance?
They will probably split the back to back this weekend. Bryz has owned PHX in his short career, maybe he gets them. I don't see how his performance tonight though gives him another game. He didn't really make any great saves and was scrambling alot, looked shaky. If it wasn't back to back then I don't think we would see him.

Just got back from the Pond, best game Ive ever seen live. The arena was soooo loud from the 2nd goal on, complete playoff intensity throughout the WHOLE building.

The third goal was sweet, Rob Nieds played an excellent game, as well as his brother.

Most of the Aves goals Giggy had no shot on, and the goal on Bryz was a rocket.

other than that, it was so great watching the team after Hedstrom put it away. Everyone was jabbing at each other, Bryzgolov was shaking his fists like the black dude in Gladiator after they won that fight. Even more telling, Giguere was right there with them just as happy. This team has something going for them...

I really don't see how anyone can not view this team as a fluke now. Down 3 goals twice and they rally against a pretty good Avs team. There's just something going for this team that they keep winning as the schedule gets tougher and the games more intense.

It was, wasn't it? Everyone in the building knew that, even if they didn't come all the way back, they would be in the game until the end. They were on a mission tonight.

Still, I was blown away when Hedstrom's shot went in and we got the two points.

Just returned from the game; it was the best Ducks game I've ever seen in person. PA announcer said it was the record best comeback in Ducks history; don't know exactly what the criteria for that statement is. The team swarming out to greet Hedstrom looked like they had just won the Cup.

Giggy bails out Bryz in Dallas, then they reverse back home against the Avs.

Wow. What a win. And what a game!!

Huge two points for the Ducks. I thought Kunitz regained his confidence, being put on the top line.

Friesen was nothing to get excited over. Serviceable 3rd liner, but we have heaps of those.

DiPenta has surprisingly good speed. He always makes good plays.

When Bryz crossed up his defensemen in the third, I thought for sure that would end up in the net. Good job by his D to battle the puck outside the zone.

I'm not a huge Rob Blake fan by any stretch, but he and S. Niedermayer sure played huge parts in making that one of the best games I've seen in a long while. Hopefully the coaching staff beats Perry over the head with the video of his failed toe drag that led to the 4th Avs goal. Blake is NOT the guy to try that on.

On another topic, anyone watch Lupul at all in this game? The kid CAN NOT get the puck into the offensive zone. Every single time they stand him up at the blue line and the play goes back the other way.

We disagree then. I find him to be a defenseman who can't defend which seems pretty useless to me really. He could be the world's finest leader, I'm not privy to that, however I do know that if he led by example the Ducks would be out of the playoff race entirely.

I agree about Odonnel, he may be a pylon but we need his toughness on the blueline... I don't think he's as good as Carney, but then again Carney was having a horrible season...

I was kind of upset they took Moen out of the lineup... however it worked out...Kunitz made a fine play for the game tying goal and Hedstrom scored the GW...

I was pretty worried about their play in front of the net throughout the game... it got better in the 3rd but was sad in 1st 5 minutes... I mean its great we can come back and win, and have the scoring/confidence... but no need to tempt fate every night ;)

Yeah but Lupuls effort was alot better. i can deal with him not scoring as long as he plays hard.

Agree on the Perry play. I knew we were screwed as soon as Blake took the puck, just not the time or player to do that on.

I like O'Donnell's toughness but IMHO it's not enough in the new NHL. He's slow & he's stupid.

I can think of playing him against Kings so when Avery does his usual routine, we can let O'Donnell take that punk (and himself if necessary) out of the game atleast for 5 mins.

"He's going to score. We've got it."

"How do you know?"

"Look at what's happened in this game. It can't end any other way. A shootout at this point is anticlimactic. He's going to score."

"You're setting yourself up for disappointment."

"No I'm not. He's going to score. This one's over."

"You're jinxing him. You know that, right?"

"I could sacrifice a small child to Satan in exchange for an Avalanche win and not jinx the Ducks right now. I'll bet you $500 that he scores."

"You don't have $500 to bet."

"$20, then."

"No. If he doesn't score, then you'll resent me for taking your money."

"There's no danger in that. Remember Game One against Minnesota? What did I say when Sykora went on that breakaway in OT?"

"You said 'we got it.'"

"That's right. And what did I say when Niedermayer went on that shorthanded break--"

"Right, right. That doesn't mean it's going to happen now."
