Best and Worse Trades

The one trade that stands in my mind as possibly the best is the NO trade of Corey Perry for Mike Comrie.

The Commisioner voided the trade and the Ducks got screwed - ha ha.

Perry is turning out to be one hell of a player. The goal he scored tonight -I still can't believe. I was at the game and I am unable to tell how the puck went into the net. Suave had the side post completely blocked and the puck got past him.

He and Getz make a great tandum together. They can control the puck and can also score.

The other great trade is the ones with Phoenix for Sellanne and Carney. They gave up a #1 draft for Carney. The person that Phoenix picked never made it the NHL.

The future is finally looking good with Penner, Lupul, Ryan, Smid, Perry and Getzlaf, Kunitz, etc. I'm not mentioning Hedstrom as the issue of him going back to Sweden is a possibility.

Both trades involve Selanne: The best trade was the move to acquire
him and the worst trade was the trade that sent him to San Jose.

Bettman didn't veto the trade. Oilers GM Kevin Lowe wanted Comrie to pay (can't remember the amount, 3 million dollars I think) to be traded in-conference. The deal was agreed upon between Lowe and Murray, then Lowe told Comrie of his demand.

I think it was actually Perry and 1st (Smid), which makes it look even worse.

Lowe wanted Comrie to pay back his signing bonuses (I think 1M), Ducks told Lowe to get lost and the trade never went through.

Fortunately for us.

I think you are confusing the Carney trade with the Tverdovsky trade. Ducks got Carney for a 2nd pick and Oleg was for the 1st.
