no offence, but somebody has to show Getzlaf how to bury his shots...yesterday he had two wide open nets and he didn't score! I think he has been doing great and think with more experience he will be scoring those wide-open goals!

Him and Perry have really been one of the Ducks most exciting lines to watch! I just hope they can keep it going and score some big goals in the playoffs

Huge game tonight before we head out on the road trip. Bryzgalov will probably start. Hopefully the Ducks bring the same intensity as last night. I almost want to miss my own game to stay home and watch this but tape delayed will have to do.

Colorado plays Calgary in about an hour and Edmonton is in Minny tonight.

Any word on Fedoruk? He left last night's game with a lower-left-leg injury.

As noted in the OCRegister:

Selanne has 12 goals and 20 assists in his last 26 games.
Giguere is 7-3-4 in his last 14 starts.

Its unforuntate Penner was sent down cause if Fedoruk can't play tonight, Penner would have been the perfect replacement! Penner already has the chemistry with Perry and Getzlaf from when they all dominated from the AHL.

If Fedoruk is expected out for a long duration of time, I expect for Penner to be called back up. I don't see Moen being much of a factor on that line. We might also see Niedermeyer moved to the Perry line and Moen being placed on the Hedstrom line, if Fedoruk can't play tonight. We will just have to wait and see.

03-12-2006, 07:16 PM
For what it's worth, Fedoruk was out there to congratulate Giguere on the win the other night, so he wasn't too hurt... At least not too hurt to skate out to the goalie after the game.

Lots of penalties yesterday against the Coyotes & not much flow. Maybe this game will be more exciting but the Ducks did have great scoring chances.

I wish Giguere was playing...this game is huge and Im much more confident with him in net. That goal Bryzgolov gave up happens every game. The Ducks cant afford that if they expect to get in the postseason.

MightyAdam
03-12-2006, 09:20 PM
Selanne!!! We need you to score that goal! When you miss a breakaway like that, it seems right that you only get 1 million dollars this year! The Coyotes came back and scored.

Anyways, all I can say is that Edmonton is losing the game to Minnesota in the third period...and if the Ducks can pull off a win, they will be 8th in the Western Conference.

So, what is it guys? Are you gonna start scoring goals? Or are you gonna shoot yourselves in your foot? Wake up! Its time to take back this game!

Static
03-12-2006, 09:24 PM
Its not like they are playing badly. If not for some poor point coverage and a non whistle this game is tied. Ducks have dominated territorily.

The Neids-Pahlsson-Hedstrom line has been the most affective so far, carrying over from last night.

Guys, Edmonton lost in regulation to Minnesota!

What does this mean?

The Ducks destiny is in their own hands. If they can win this game tonight, they will get the 8th and final playoff spot, with two games at hand in front of Edmonton!

We all know that the coaches are letting the players know that Edmonton lost! That will probably motivate them for the third even more.

Come on Ducks! Just two more goals to go!

8th place! Dominating game tonight by the Ducks. Kept making the Coyotes take penalties. It was only a matter of time before the floodgates opened and they did in the 3rd. Good game by Sami P tonight. Sweet goal by Perry, he abused Scatchard. Bryzgalov was ok tonight, looked shaky but stopped pucks and that's all that matters. Congrats on the milestone Mcdonald19.

What a good game by the Ducks. I thought that they had blown it when it was 2-0 Coyotes. It's great to see them getting offense from many different players. That's extremely important this time of year. They're still in 9th, but need only one point in their two games in hand over the Oilers to pass them.

Whatever animosity you may feel toward Friesen, he's happy to be in Anaheim this time around and wants to score big goals to help the team as much as he can. He's shown a big change of heart and, on account of that, the past shouldn't be held against him. That's just my opinion.

This is a gritty team, it was nerve racking not seeing them score on those pp's, and then blain angus stealing a goal away but these guys perservered.

This game was really about the role players, Hedstrom, Niedermayer, Pahlsson, Marchant, and Friesen(even though he had a bad turnover leading to the first PHX goal). Great games for those guys.

Niedermayer was outstanding as usual, average game for Beauchemin. Salei, O'donnell, Vish, and Dipenta had solid games.

Bryzgalov was ok, he makes great saves and then gives up soft goals. but it was important for Giguere to be rested for this road trip.

The kids on this team are contributing very well, I think that bodes well for the future of Ryan Getlzaf, and Corey Perry. I like that these guys are tough, they take hits to make plays. Lucky goal for Corey but that's a goal scorers goal, but they got to that situation with a great cycle.

btw isn't this the first time the ducks won after trailing after 2 periods?

mmbt
03-12-2006, 10:59 PM
Yeah, Getz and Perry's emergence as actual contributors rather than just kids with flashes of ability will be critical if we're going to make the playoffs, or make some noise once we get there. They appear to be getting better each week.

And the announcers were right, Pahlsson looks like a whole new player since the Olympics. It's like he suddenly realizes that being a good defensive player doesn't require him to give up on offense entirely and dump every puck into the corner.

Yea after the Selanne miss and then the goal to put us down 2-0, I was pissed. We now have 13 of a possible 14 points from the coyotes.

Pahlsson is awsome, he has thrown some nice hits the last 2 games, him along with Hedstrom and R. Nieds just dominated. We really need them to play like this, especially on the road. If not for the refs Big Sammy P would of been looking at a 2 goal game, which may have lead to a Pepper heart attack.

Tough road trip, Columbus is good at home, Detroit, Dallas owns us. I really like the way we have played Detroit this year though and think we have a great chance to win that game.

Note to Forbesy, B_R_G and other Canadian duck fans without Center Ice, that game will be on TSN, 7:30 Wednesday.
