Info on Juha Alencyrisweb 03-09-2006, 09:10 PM I know next to nothing on him other then the fact he is a big guy. any info? MightyAdam 03-09-2006, 09:14 PM yeah, he stinks...so good we got rid of him lmao :biglaugh: mmbt 03-09-2006, 09:25 PM A few years back there was a little talk about him, but not much. He's pretty low on the prospect depth chart ... I was surprised we even still had him, frankly. Completely off the radar, we probably haven't even so much as brought up his name around here in a couple years. McDonald19 03-09-2006, 11:58 PM I know next to nothing on him other then the fact he is a big guy. any info? To be honest I think he was a throw-in to the deal. I didn't even know for sure if we still had his NHL rights anymore. Here's his story...he's from Finland...he played 1 year of NCAA hockey and the Ducks drafted him in the third round (2003) and then convinced him to leave school and start a pro career...he plays a decent rookie AHL season (03-04)...then before the second season he injures himself skiing or something and the Ducks weren't too happy about that...so he didn't play any hockey that year until the very end he went back to Finland...and he has stayed over there... Looks like he has had an okay season playing in Finland for Ilves Tampere. 48 gp 5 goals 5 assists 10 points 102 pims. Comparable NHLer would be Aki Berg They are basically the exact same size, from the same country, and play the same style. The only time I saw Alen play in person was at the 2004 Prospect Tournament and he looked okay but he didn't stand out too much. His willingness to play physical was there at times. If you can get him back over to North America, develop him in the AHL for another season or 2 he might end up being an okay third pairing guy. | ||
