My guess is either Jason King or Kiril Koltsov. As for the pick, probably one of our second rounder, or maybe (god forbid), our first rounder.

Burke knows what he is doing. He used to be GM in Vancouver and obviously thinks Skinner is a great player. If skinner turns out to be like Francois Beauchemin then Burke has got us two great players. From Skinners profile, he seems like a great future player. Maybe even one day replace what Ozo would have done on the powerplay!

Talent Analysis:
Skinner is an offensive defenseman who is blessed with impeccable passing and playmaking abilities. His overall play has improved steadily with each season and his numbers back it up. Skinner is a very smooth skater who transitions quite well. He has no trouble jumping up into plays or leading the offensive rush. Skinner is a tremendously smart player who sees the ice very well. He has no trouble quarterbacking the power play and is equally adept at killing penalties. He has a good, accurate shot and shoots as often as the opportunity presents itself. Skinner possesses a great work ethic and is the consummate team player. He could stand to be more physical as well as add some muscle to his 6’1/195 lbs. frame. Skinner has also blossomed into not only a mature player but also an excellent leader for the Denver Pioneers. While Skinner has continually enhanced his great hockey sense and ability to read plays, where he has really made it pay off is in his superb and sometime creative ability of utilizing his teammates to create prime scoring opportunities.

I think superstar is a bit much, maybe a valueable asset that may be used to fetch players that may be more ready to contribute sooner...

Vancouver was really high on Skinner while he was in College, he was really progessing,then he went to the AHL this year and has really struggled. I don't doubt he will be a very solid defensmen in the future, but only time will tell. He's got along way to go.

He wont be a superstar, but A solid player none the less. #4 defenseman who can put up the points. Think something like Sopel, except better defensively... The one knock on Skinner is he's butter soft.

Burke hinted that Carney wasn't a part of the future earlier in the year. I think he will sign Salei to an extension soon though.

Definitely a good return for Carney and we all knew at the start of the season that he wouldn't be back next year.

yeah, I kind of thought the writing was on the while for Keith when Burke said they just replace the UFA's on Tuesday. Salei should be signed, he's been the 2nd/3rd best dman for the ducks..

Skinner was the pride and joy out of Colorado! He was one of the top dmen in the NCAA. But he has a terrible first year in the AHL. He was named to the Spengler cup and did ok there. Then came back to the Moose and played somewhat decent. But nothing spectacular.

If he reaches his potential he could be a solid #4-#5 guy good offensive skills, but as was said pretty soft. He has good leadership skills. He was captain of his team in the NCAA.

Maybe Skinner replaces Smith in our depth chart. The 2nd rounder is the Islanders, so thats cool.

Skinner played awesome while he was playing for Denver University. I hope he does well in Anaheim and looking forward to see him in the NHL!

Sad to see Keith go. But it was time, I suppose. Got a good return for him. I would LOVE to see Salei re-signed.
