Chad Kilger???

Just for "what if" sake, look at who Anaheim picked in the 1995 draft. To think, they could have chosen the number 11 instead of Kilger is pretty amazing. Think Iglina would have done as well with the Ducks?

Hindsight...

Dallas was willing to part with Iginla (they refused to give up Todd Harvey) to get Nieuwendyk for a Stanley Cup run.

and Kilger was traded with Tverdovsky for Selanne so I wouldn't worry too much about the pick of Kilger.

Pretty good first round for goalies.

As far as I remember, Kilger was seen as a blossoming power forward who had quick feet.

Now that I look at it, at least it's not the Ducks that have three of the biggest 1st round failures.

Aki Berg, Chad Kilger, and Jeff Ware.

It's not we wasted a lot of time and money on him or anything. The dude played like half a season and like McD19 said we got Teemu outta him so I'd say it was a good move. But that was 11 years ago so it's not really worth dwelling on.

That's quite a nice draft, but we didn't luck out. Simple as that. I wan't about in for drafts more than a few years ago so I've no idea what people thought of the guys back then.

what a horrible draft that was. there was about 5 good players out of 26 in the 1st rd. Iggy, Redden, nabakov, giggy, and i guess berard is decent. the rest of AWFUL. Thats gotta be one of the worst drafts

Well Shane Doan is a pretty good pick IMO.

Dvorak and Sykora is alos very decent players in my eyes.

I wonder what HF boards would have said after the Selanne trade..

"Dude! the ducks got ripped off! they traded one of the best young defensemen and the next Cam Neely for a one year wonder!"

The reason I put Good is because he is having a really rough season. I know he is better than I make him out to be. But you can't compare he and Redden. Two different positions.

Agree. I'd say both are great players, in their own way.

Doan is more reliable defensively. :sarcasm:

Aki Berg, Chad Kilger, and Jeff Ware.

Berg and Kilmer weren't exactly screaming successes, but how do they merit "biggest bust" tags amongst that group? What about Steve Kelly, Terry Ryan, Teemu Riihijarvi, Brad Church or Miika Elomo? Were any of them less than "total busts"?

Nabakov isn't Evgeni Nabakov of San Jose... He's Dmitri Nabakov a centre... I KNOW.. WHO?

If bold is a miss, there is a total of 12. 26 - 12 = 14. 14 > 12. More hits than misses I think you'll see.
