I didnt see what happened in the 2nd period because tsn and cbc didnt feel like showing it!

Kukkonen is good one. I've remember him at Euro Championship for clubs and he was good with Vaananen last year at WC, Imo.

Losing Salo is a big problem. They already were forced to use AJ Niemi in the 3rd period and he was not that spectacular. Salo has been our best defenseman with Numminen.

Salos SH goal was nice.

Salo is a big loss for Finland. I think Kukkonen is very good but I would like Karalahti more.

Come on, this is a hockey forum, people who write in here, should have even a slight eye to the game. Comparing mr mullet and Kukkonen, is like telling every with bright eyes them 2 forwads mentioned above should be on team as well.

Kukkonen is par with Niemi, so there's no loss, if Kukkonen sits as the 7th tomorrow (and later). Also, does his task as defending 0-0 D pretty much guaranteed.

Too bad there's no stunt for Salo. Finns can only have fill in the roster with 0-0 D... :(

Kukkone will take his place. That's what I heard from Radio-Suomi (Finland).
I would consider Radio-Suomi as a reliable source.

Yes I know you people in Jyväskylä have some issues with Kukkonen :)
And yes I think that Kukkonen is better in defence. Kukkonen is a solid palyer in own zone and I think we are going to spend a lot of time there. At this point we don't have better players so we have to manage with Kukkonen. One question about Kukkonen is that how he can adapt to zero tolerance...

It's a shame that Pitkänen, Väänänen, Karalahti and now Salo are all injured. We could use that size and skill against Russia. :madfire:

Kukkonen might be fine, but his inexperience is what bothers me. I'd like to see someone in D who can keep his head cool at all times, and usually bit older guys handle the pressure in a better way. But yeah, it's difficult to find D-men out of thin air.

Finnish defence is getting thinner and thinner. They must have some kind of a voodoo curse on them this year :shakehead

Due to his ankle injury Janne refused before Olympic games. Otherwise he would have been on team as a replacment for Pitkänen
