Kono out!

Kono and a 3rd for a 4th liner and a prospect. Man, I don't know.
Colorado can use the guy, but the Caps can't? Bates Battaglia?

Kono was a 3rd liner and Battaglia a 4th liner. And plus you got a potential star in Johansson. Clearly the Avs made this out of desperation already even tho only a few games into the season.

Kono has been playing poorly since a shoulder injury a few seasons ago. He was voted Captain by his teammates, true, but in that time-period the Caps have had a huge void in leadership. He is a hard worker, and doesn't take shifts off. I think you'll be pleased with his effort, if maybe not the results. If it was the Kono of 3 years ago, then the Avs would be the winner of this trade.

Bates is 3rd liner...with possiblity to make 2nd line on any weak offensive team (the Caps) if he plays good. He's a big guy who loves to throw his weight around...and is more known to do the little things that help an offense work, than the big things (goals and such).

Johansson...there are speculated reports coming out of Denver...he was a supposed top 6 guy who showed brilliance....but apparently always had some flaws that he couldn't get past.

Bondra, Lang, Semin, Jagr, Nylander, Zubrus

See that's the thing were not weak offensively. Sure we don't have YOUR top six but we have some very gifted offensive players on our team. Sure Nylander's out but I mean that's not for much longer.
