Good deal for both teams. The Caines are certainly a better team today. You hate to give up a first, but with Staal, Ladd and Johnson the can afford it. If the Devs don't get in or knocked out, I'll be rooting for these guys!

Yeah, I don't feel bad rooting for these southern teams, but Florida for some reason just doesn't seem right. :dunno:

thats way more than we paid. i would take pandolfo over any of the players we gave up - and i would think suglubov is a far better prospect than kahnberg...who is ufa this off season anyway. dont know janssen very well but i would take anybody you actually value over boulerice. the picks hurt a little, but the first was the only pick actually ours.

I think we need someone we can slot into the lineup who'll stay there a year or two at a nice price. Not a rental for a couple months.

wEIGHT WOULD HAVEbeen good for us it's what we need a second line center...at what price??

Now that that saga is over, I think Joe neiwendyke could be good and he wouild come cheap...maybe a B level prospect or #3 round pick.

I haven't followed Niewendyke this year...how is he doing? I don't know if it would be smart to get him because he has a year left on his contract and I remember him having back problems.

From what I remember and saw of the Florida 4-0 beatdown last Friday (which was, sadly, all of it), Nieuwendyk didn't really impress me. I don't think renting him for the last 2 months of the season won't benefit NJ too much.

Considering the Weight deal, well, this is going to make Stevens Night more interesting (I got a ticket! I'm actually going). Meaning, Carolina may be even tougher to beat.
