I'm usually not much of a player article kind of guy, but I read this on top to bottom. Great write up :handclap:


"I remember trading up to the 84th spot in the 1998 Draft because our scouts felt they had to have Brian Gionta and they didn't think there was a chance on earth that he'd still be there where we picked in the third round," St. Louis Blues General Manager Larry Pleau said. "We were feeling pretty good about things until (New Jersey Devils GM) Lou Lamoriello traded up as well ... one spot ahead of us ... and took Brian."

Wow, and you thought the Blues hated us for stealing Stevens, a 1st, Parise, etc. etc. etc.
