A move made as a result of Marshall's injury.

mind boggling. there are like 5 players more deserving.

p.s. i like how suglobov's time up was completely wasted, i guess its ryznar's turn to get payed to watch some NHL hockey. i would be extremely pissed off if i was suglobov

I hope he plays tomorrow , too!!! I'm going to the game. Obviously he's more of a "Marshall" type player than Suglobov is.

Also, it looks like Suglobov is one of those guys that isn't gonna get a chance. Lou has done similar things to a number of players over the years. Weird. :dunno:

Oh, nevermind. I thought you were surprised in general to see him called up, but then I realized it was because he was chosen over Suglobov or some other more deservable player. :shakehead

Yeah it's about time we see more Alaskans in the NHL. I think this is another player my brother coached. Which is kind of cool.

If Ryznar is on the roster, then let him play. Rasmussen is doing nothing. Sit him and let Langdon and Ryznar play.

That is all. ;)

They play opposite wings...is it that easy to switch?
Would they just plug him into Marshall's spot or juggle a couple of lines?
Too bad for Sluggo...I hope he gets another shot SOON. i'd like to see him play more. Maybe the Rats needed him more down in Albany than Ryz.

My guess is that Kozlov moves up on the wing with Parise on Brylin's line. That leaves Ryzner, Rasmussen and Cam on the 4th line. That is a ton of attitude on a line that probably won't see more than 18 minutes combined time. Maybe Kozlov pulls his head out of his *** and actually contributes offensively.

So cool!
Can't wait to see Jason in a Devs uni. And can't wait to not see Langdon.

And like was previously said... again, this is Kozlov's chance. He has the ability to be a functional second-liner not a wasted fourth liner.

To say I'm proud is an understatement.
Will be at game tonight. Your bro may certainly know my sister Carol (mom) or his bro Daniel (who actually had more talent).
Been to Los Anchorage once, plan to go there this summer. Promontory in Palmer named after an ancestor.

I'm sure he does. I think he coached him when he was in midget A's I think. As for his brother I don't see him on the Alaska All stars site so I can only say maybe he coahced him also.

Also know Joey Crabb from Anchorage, who's playing at Colorado College and was the MVP of the Great Lakes Invitational. Classy young man - besides a good player.

I hope Ryznar plays well enough to warrant a longer look in the NHL.

Regarding Suglobov, I hardly think a rookie forward from the AHL is going to bring the Devils "secondary scoring" right off the bat. He was called up, I think, in case Elias couldn't play and NJ needed a more skilled forward for the game in question. Since the Devils rattled off 9 straight wins and Elias was there for all but one of them, no reason to play him.

He seemed to provide scoring right off the bat in Carolina...

I don't think anyone expected him to light it up, but I think I can speak for others here in saying that it would have been nice to see what he could have done over a few games. Sure there may have been no reason to play him, but there is no reason to call him for 6 games and not have him suit up at all. I just don't see how that helps his development. He would have been better off hanging around Albany and playing, and he had to be called up to ACTUALLY play, then I'm sure that wouldn't have been difficult to do. I will be interested to see how this kind of thing affects him mentally. To be called up, and to not even play for a young guy has to be a little disapointing....So we've now seen Tallackson, Pihlman, Suglobov for one game, and now Ryznar. I think Lou is wanting to get a look at some of his AHL prospects to see what they may be able to bring to the table. With a backload of forwards at in Albany, someone could be used in a deal down the road I think.....

Another guy my brother coached. His mom was my history teacher in high school.
