If two teams are tied what's the tiebreaker: goal differential or most goals scored?

If you are assuming that, for example, Canada and the USA head into their New Year's Eve contest 3-0, and end up in a draw against one another, then the tie breaker is goals for/goals against differential.

As of the 2nd game, the USA is ahead by 5 goals, on the strength of their 9 goal blowout of Norway. Canada gets Norway for game 3, while the USA take on a very game Swiss team for game 3.

Of course, you never know, maybe this year, they're going to use the Shootout to decide a tie game?

No, they tiebreakers are as usual:

1) Goal differential in games between tied teams
2) Scored goals in games between tied teams
3) Goal differential in all games
4) Scored goals in all games

I understood it to be:
Head-to-head (mutual) games between the teams concerned.
Goal differential.
Higher number of goals scored for in all games.
Game Winning Shots competition between the teams concerned.
If three or more teams have the same number of points in the group, then their ranking shall be determined by higher number of points in a special standing composed just from the results of their head-to-head (mutual) games. If the number of points is equal between the three or more teams in this special standing just from the results of their head-to-head (mutual) games, than the same tie breaking criteria as above applies.

Yup head to head is the first decider, then goal differential... etc... etc... etc...
