We are pleased to announce that Timothy Bennett has passed the approval process with the HF Senior Editors and will be joining the Hockey's Future staff as a Lightning writer.

Timothy, aka Exterminator-X, will be responsible for covering the Bolts' minor pro prospects. Pete, who is now back in Tampa, will continue to cover prospects in Europe and I will continue to cover N.A. Juniors and NCAA prospects.

Even prior to being asked to join the site Ex had established contacts with the Ice Pilots and additional minor league outlets. In just the past week, he has established a hoard of new contacts in Pensacola, Hershey, Hamilton, and Wichita.

We greatly appreciate posters like Higgsfan, BCD, JoeMinus, Sotnos, Bolthed and others who are able to provide us with info to use for the site, both on the message boards and in articles. You would not believe how much HF has grown as an organization in the last two years, both as an independant news outlet and within the NHL itself. Thanks!

Thanks again, Timothy, for volunteering your time to help out.

Part 1 (http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=6334&mode=threaded&order=0) of Timothy's Minor Pro Preview is now available on the Bolt page. Part 2 will follow shortly.

Go Bolts, Bears, Bulldogs, Ice Pilots, and Thunder.

Thanks, K!

I bet you're excited about the IP game! Regarding the IP, just post your impressions of the Soucy, Craig, Van Hoof, and Eklund/Konnie. Eyewitness anaylsis is irreplacable. Specifically would like to know if Craig has a letter on his jersey, and the lines/pairings these guys are on. I'm very curious which goalie gets the start...

Is it possible that Decaire could be united with Holmqvist in Hershey if one/some of Colorado's defensemen get called up or traded? I think that would probably be the ideal situation

Actually D.J.Smith was just called up to Colorado a few days ago. Coupled with TB only having 5 players in Hershey, one would think it might be a possibility.

However, I suspect they are going to want to get Gerard settled somewhere and avoid moving him all over the place. I agree Hershey would be ideal, but let's see give the Utah situation a few weeks to sort itself out. If he ends up carving out some playing time (and I think he will because he's good), Utah might be just fine.

I agree with Pete that the Pensacola watch for Artukhin is on. With scratches in both of Hershey's first two games, one has to wonder how long before Feaster moves him to get some IT. If that happens, then TB only has four players in Hershey out of six available slots. I'd definitely think it would improve the possibilty of moving Dicaire to Hershey at that point.

You watch... Artukhin will only dress for a handful of games if he stays with Hershey and on the occassions he actually does get to play he'll get 6-8 minutes on the fourth line and be expected to fight. No thanks. That's not what we need to be doing to developing this young man to his full potential.

Like I have said before, and I think you would agree with me Pete. A little ECHL for R2 wouldn't hurt the big man, it would sure beat sitting in the press box.

Under our current circumstances, yes it would. If we had gotten our own affiliation it would've been ok to keep him in the AHL, but not now.

Thats wierd...I thought the one guy on Tampa's list that Hershey wanted most was R2? Guess not

I don't understand y they would wait for the Utah situation to work itself out this early in the season. The fact that its early should be a factor in moving him to Hershey rather than the opposite. Its better to work with only cropping out two AHL teams rather than 3. Damn, and trying to secure adequate playing time in Springfield was suppose to be tough?

I suspect Hershey wants to use R2 as an enforcer. He'll get the odd start when playing a goon team. Like the way Torts uses Roy.

X - Glad to help out!! Unfortunately my info probably won't be posted until late Sunday or on Monday, I won't have internet access while on the "road trip".

Hershey wins 1-0 over St. John's to stay unbeaten in three games. They did it with only 5 d-men. According the York Daily Record (http://ydr.com/story/bears/14553/?PHPSESSID=3cbcff339a23cf26032149f56c9e469e):

Rookie defenseman Mikko Viitanen was scratched for unspecified reasons, so with D.J. Smith still on recall to the Colorado Avalanche, the Bears played with only five blue liners Thursday night.

If this keep up, I'm going to have to agree with you TB_FANATIC and begin calling for a rescue team to be sent out to fetch Dicaire back to the Eastern Time Zone.

BTW: Trepanier with a solid start for the Bears. Offensively involved and defensively responsible. Playing up tempo, and is often on the ice with Willis' line.

Speaking of Ramblin' Wreck...

Yes! At last, my Georgia Tech road jersey was delivered yesterday, complete with Pavol Demitra's number sewn on the back. Sweet. :yo: :rolly: :handclap:

Here's a shamless plug (the road jersey is black):

Doesn't this jersey rock!

Just in time for tonight's season opener of my pick-up league.

Maybe the grimacing Buzz on the front will stun all defenders, and Demitra's number will magically transform these granite hands in something Palmolive soft. :)

Oh, so THAT's what Ramblin' Wreck means.

That's what I get for going to an NAIA school.

In the name of Stephan Marbury,

Peace.
