Methinks McGillis may have played his last game as a dev. Wonder what he's going ot fetch on the market? Another 3rd/4th rounder, or perhaps another Adrian Foster type? Typically, players are showcased. He can step in somewhere right away. Not sure where.

McGillis is scratched for the 5th straight game, in the pregrame Laughlin said he didn't even make the trip to Ohio. He's not sick, he skated back in NJ with Elias. Wonder if a trade fell through...

McGillis has missed 5 in a row, this team has lost 4 in a row. No co-incedence there at all.

by no means has mcgillis been the worst this year; in fact i think martin has been most shakey but he is young and they wont' take him out
good game for mcgillis; on the same note i don't think brown shoul dbe the odd man out
so who sits??

It makes the most sense, any way you look at it, for Malakhov to be discharged from the team. McGillis' play last night reaffirmed that for me.

<---- McGillis supporter all season long. He's gotten an unfair rap over on njdevs.com this year imo.

A friend made a DVD of the most recent Devils-Lightning game and I noticed that Malakhov was a little more forceful with his checks when paired with McGillis.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm of the opinion that Rafalski should sit for a while; he has not impressed me too much this season, sad to say.

What about pairing Brown with Martin? Again, I could be wrong...

Does the little face mean you're kidding about benching Rafalski? He leads the team in total ice time by a significant amount. He's Larry go-to guy when the team starts to unravel, which sadly is pretty often. He's not Nieds, he can't take his game to an elite level at will. But he's the team's overall best defenseman.
Like everyone, I've been impressed by Brown's turnaround. But he still makes all kinds of mistakes, which is why he now leads the team at -9. He doesn't play a physical game despite being 6'3". He has a total of 9 hits in 24 games, the second lowest on the team (Parise has 6)! Malakov and Rafalski both have 23 hits.
Mcgillis is going to play his a** off now that he's finally playing again, Brown should go back to being the 7th d-man for now. The best way to keep other teams from running Brodeur is to hit people.
