Whats wrong with him? he doesnt look good out there and only tries when he has the puck, not when he is trying to get it....you think he will pick it up or is he waiting for a trade?

We dont know anymore about Jagr then you. After the first game I thought he came to play this season but he didnt look happy tonight... QcS 10-14-2003, 07:29 PM he's been like that since he got traded to the caps.. he collects his 11 million and doesn't care. No wonder the caps wanted to trade him this summer. This team is awful btw, i don't see them making the playoffs at all. This is nothing new. You are experiencing what we did for many years. Things to keep an eye out for: 1) Skate problems: "I can't find a pair that fits my feet" 2) Groin problems: "My groin is sore" 3) System problems: "Difficult time adjusting to this system" 4) Coaching problems: "Can't get on the same page as the coach (who I'd like to run out of town") This is just a sample. There is more to come. Our GM taught Jags well. ashaddcola 10-15-2003, 06:23 AM This is nothing new. You are experiencing what we did for many years. I found this posted on the Caps official forum by Brenluvshockey.....I saw the game until it was 3-1 and Jagr was dogging it....what did the rest of you think? :teach:I watched the game on center ice and have some observations. The announcers that Jagr did not start, was not on the 1st PP, and was at the end of the bench shaking his head. The announcer was very harsh about Jagr pouting and earning his 11 million. He later pointed out in slo mo how Jagr was lazily skating toward the blue line and caused an offside because he was not hustling. He said Cassidy was right to show Jagr that he is not bigger than the team and that if he would not hustle, then he would not play. He noted a number of times that Jagr should get off the ice because his body language said clearly that he did not want to be out there and certainly did not want to hustle. Boy do I like the candor of hockey announcers compared to NFL & MLB! At the first intermission they played an interview with Jagr and he said that plain and simply he was not getting the 25 minutes he used to and that was the reason for the fall off and he could not understand why they were not playing him more. Berry got cut and banned for life for similar comments. Charpy is not Olie, but when you get in once every 3-10 games, it is hard to get a true feel for game conditions. Last night in my view, the Caps were as good skating and maybe a little quicker, but it seemed like there was always an uncovered man in our zone. :dunno: God I hate overpaid babies who won't go all out if they are "unhappy" CapitalsCup2010 10-15-2003, 07:46 AM Usually I defend Jags because we've never had a guy with this talent. I don't want to see him gone, but this attitude thing is unacceptable. I don't think because he's making $11 mil he should be a god out there, but at least play hard. Set a good example for the young guys out there. I think think this guy will only be happy on a team like Colorado, or Detroit. He doesn't want to be "the man" in DC. As for Cassidy, well he sucks. Dale Hunter for coach! Leafs#1 10-15-2003, 12:51 PM is jagr stupid or something? if he wants to be traded then play better! anyone could figure out that the better you play, the better chance you have of being traded..right now, who would want him? Sports Junkie 10-15-2003, 01:15 PM It's not his play it's his salary that is keeping him in town. I think it is likely the Rangers will continue to suck and struggle to score and they will do the deal for him that was nearly a reality this summer. | ||
