Russian WJC Rosterbarrytrotzsneck 12-03-2005, 08:04 PM Any predictions from those "in the know", perhaps some of our Russian posters...on the roster for Team Russia, this year? wilka91* 12-03-2005, 08:08 PM I don't know much about this team, but the big question is certainly whether Malkin will be playing at the WJC. Because if he does, he's going to put up huge numbers. As for the rest of the team ... :help: Epsilon 12-03-2005, 08:11 PM Malkin is almost certainly not playing, which means this is going to be the worst Russian WJC entry in quite a while. As for the rest of the team ... :help: Word is to Evgeni, that he has an extreme work load ahead of him with his home club, the olympics, and the world juniors, that the common answer is that he plans on skipping the world juniors, as he has already proven himself. Everyone believes his talent will be better used for the Russians during the olympics in 06... Form and Substance 12-03-2005, 08:50 PM Radulov is a lock. Trukhno is practically a lock. He looked very good last year. Kaizer 12-04-2005, 02:52 AM Forwards: Lemtyugov - Malkin - Shirokov Radulov - Younkov - Voloshenko Lisin - Churilov - Bumagin Parshin/Schitikov/Kulemin/Zubov/Istomin/Ogorodnikov Defencemen: Zubarev - Buravchikov Lyamin - Belov Emelin - Anikeenko Extra D-men: Biryukov/Aksenenko/Nikitin/Bodrov Goalies: Khudobin - Kasutin Doomsday Device 12-04-2005, 03:13 AM Radulov is a lock. NewGuy 12-04-2005, 04:51 PM is belarus in the wjc? Yes, but not in the top group. http://hydra.iihf.com/IIHF_Core/jsp/content/web_output/index.jsp?compId=57 (http://hydra.iihf.com/IIHF_Core/jsp/content/web_output/index.jsp?compId=57) Montréal Russians 12-04-2005, 05:02 PM i wana get a look at sergei kostitsyn montreal 12-04-2005, 05:24 PM i wana get a look at sergei kostitsyn You'll need a plane ticket to Belarus then. U-18's and U-20's are separate tourneys... -31- 12-04-2005, 10:53 PM so it's a negative on Makarov? Zine 12-05-2005, 12:06 AM so it's a negative on Makarov? Yeah, Makarov most likely isn't good enough. Slitty 12-05-2005, 01:03 AM Markov, Ogorodnikov, and Mayer looked good in the Russia-Canada challlange. If they dont make it, nobody from that team will. Mayer, granted, is rather unknown and young though. montreal 12-05-2005, 08:44 PM You can be in it until you're 20 hence this year and next. Next year he'll be 19 and it will be his last go at the U-20's. montreal 12-05-2005, 08:47 PM U-18's and U-20's are separate tourneys... Your right U-18 and U-20 are seperate. Thanks but it has nothing to do with Kostitsyn cause he has been playing on the U-20 team since he was 16. His brother played on the U-20 at 15, played for the U-20 team for five years. GorillazXL 12-05-2005, 09:55 PM Radulov is a lock. Trukhno is practically a lock. Raulov is a lock but Trukhno??? Didn't he stink up the joint at the under18s? Thus his huge drop at the draft. He also didn't play during the ReMax Challenge, so I have a feeling he won't be playing... which is too bad, he's been playing well on a very crappy PEI team. Yeah I guess he isn't a lock after all which is a shame because he's playing some excellent hockey now. Anyway, tsn reports that the US and Russia are the team to beat this year. ***, Russia? scott99 12-05-2005, 11:11 PM Markov, Ogorodnikov, and Mayer looked good in the Russia-Canada challlange. HF gave him a really nice writeup, saying he was the captain of the Russian team, has leadership abilities, and good wheels and hands. Any info would be greatly appreciated by us prospect starved (as far as knowing how they are doing) Isles fans. Thanx. | ||
