The greatest line of all time is, and in my opinion there is not a doubt:

Krutov - Larionov - Makarov


The greatest swedish line of all time is usually considered to be the 1984 Canada Cup line consisting of

Loob - Steen- K. Nilsson

but I like the 1987 WCH line consisting of

Loob - B-Å Gustafsson - Sandström

Leaf Lander, a 1-2 punch is if they have two players on the same position on different lines.

For example... Theoretically the leafs have a good 1-2-3 punch in

Sundin - Lindros - Allison.

This is kinda sad. I can understand that North Americans don´t really know "Troika Petrova" (=Mikhailov-Petrov-Kharlamov), but the line truly dominated the seventies in European hockey and was more effective in the World Championships than KLM (though it´s hard to compare; different era and so forth...).

Unfortunately they didn´t really play together in the Summit Series ´72 and only a couple of games during the Super Series ´75-´76, and no Canada Cups... but it´s still one of best lines ever without a shadow of a doubt.

Some other great European lines:

Yakushev - Shadrin - Shalimov (Soviet Union/Spartak, mid-70s)
Kapustin - Zhluktov - Balderis (Soviet U./Red Army, late ´70s)
Martinec - Novak - B. Stastny (Czechoslovakia/Tesla Pardubice, 70s)

- Alexandrov - Almetov - Loktev. (60's). Veniamin Alexandrov still holds record for most goals in one season with 53. It is one more than previous record of Vsevolod Bobrov.
- B. Mayorov - Starshinov - E. Mayorov. (60's) They were that good when they were young that only this line was enough for Spartak to win championship and beat CSKA's machine.
- Vikoulov - Polupanov - Firsov (60's). Who doesn't know "stick-skate-stick" move ?
