Although I'm not hometown, I think I qualify.
I expect him to play at least 5 more games this year ;)
Aaron Vickers 10-13-2003, 06:17 PM Played 9:09 tonight.
Played 12:01 Saturday.
Played 5:53 on Tuesday.
I can see them letting him average 10 minutes a game. So far his average is roughly 9 minutes. Not too shabby.
JF Omalycat 10-13-2003, 06:24 PM I like the grit he's shown so far, and personally think he'll end up staying awhile. Especially in light of some recent injuries.
Just my opinion, though.

imo, hes staying unless he completely forgets how to lace his skates. hes played solid hockey and is gonna get around 9 min a game. plus with wright probably out for a while(thank goodness, unless you are a wright fan :)), he might get some more. i also think doug made it pretty clear by playing him in the final 3 min of a 1 goal lead against a very good team

I agree. It's not as if we're counting on him to score. As long as he hustles and plays good defense, he should stick around. I'd rather have him out there vs. Pronger.
The Disgrace reported on Sunday that he's going to be around for at least 20 games per his contract. That doesn't mean he'll play all 20 games, but if he plays well, he'll stay. I thought he played great with Espen tonight, they always seemed to get the puck in Cloutier's ugly grill.
In light of current injuries...new lines courtesy of Oz...
Sanderson-Cassels-Vyborny

Pirjeta-Fritsche-Knutsen
Shelley-McDonnell-Ling
Ejh18 10-13-2003, 06:44 PM Fritsche WILL NOT get sent back before Nov. 22. Its written into his contract, unless he agrees to go back... but i dont see him doing that, unless we are going to have him sit in the press box for the next 6 weeks. :dunno:
Will he play in every game untill then? Maybe, maybe not. But Doug is showing a lot of faith in him having him on the ice in the final 3 minutes against the Canucks, while protecting a 1 goal lead. :handclap:
I think if he stays, he wont be on the 4th line all year. But he will eventually make his way to the 3rd.
EDIT:
Damn you X... beat me to it. :D
Qubax 10-13-2003, 07:27 PM Hmm I see so he could stay more then the usual 10 up to 20 and still go back to Junior...correct...?
This is interesting...
jackets63 10-13-2003, 07:42 PM #1 - Why start another Fritche thread? Cant we just scroll down and add to one of the other 3 youve started?
#2 - I agree, when I saw Dougie send him out with 2:30 left in a one goal game against what is arguably the best line in the NHL the last 2 years, it shows a lot about what Dougie thinks of him. And he went head to head with the line at least 3 times in the 3rd. I think he might stick around. At worst, he is holding his own in this league. At best, he is even impressing.
Qubax 10-13-2003, 10:04 PM Thanks....I seriously won't start another Fristche thread for atleast one month ...fair enough..?
3mta3 10-14-2003, 04:26 AM Start all the threads you want. This kid is worth it.
He stays unless he does something huge wrong. If he throws a Domi elbow, or a McSorley swing then he gets demoted. If he keeps playing like ths though, he's a keeper.
Some highlights are a great chance last night on a 3 on 1 - just couldn't get it done and a high stick in the noggin from Lindros on Saturday. He's really playing well with that fourth line. They got power play time late against the Rangers to keep the peace too.

he can be sent back whenever the team desires
after 10 games however, the first year of his contract "kicks in" and is official and therefore it's one less year before he becomes an RFA, as well as waiver rules etc.

Richardson-Spacek
Lachance-Klesla(If WC isnt injured)/Walser(If WC is Injured)

Nash-Marchant-Nedorost

JF Omalycat 10-14-2003, 03:03 PM Just curious,
Why would Pirjeta center a line, with Knutsen on LW, opposite of their listed positions? I know these guys shuffle around a bit, but you would think it would make sense to keep them in the position they play best. Or, is this no big deal?
Maybe we should start a new thread regarding line changes.....:)

Im thinking it doesnt matter.
If it does, move Ling to LW,Knutsen to C and Prijeta to RW

anything to keep hyphen out of the lineup :)

Actully, It keeps him in. Gives his spot from Lings.
I picked McDonnell because, IMO, he had a strong camp and deserves the first injury call up.
