Third Jersey UnveiledKeithBWhittington 10-13-2003, 08:32 AM Looks good...Dark Blue with black sleeves, stars down the sleeves, stinger head on shoulder patch, Ohio Flag wrapped around a Star on the chest. the-rasta-masta 10-13-2003, 08:35 AM They have a tiny picture of it on the top of the team webpage. Looks sharp. http://www.bluejackets.com/ Aaron Vickers 10-13-2003, 09:10 AM I must say, I like the new 3rds more than the regular jersey's. Aaron Vickers 10-13-2003, 09:14 AM <<<------------- :yo: jackets63 10-13-2003, 09:42 AM No Stinger anywhere! I heard that they are phasing stinger out on all apparel. I think they are keeping him as a mascot though. RDriesen 10-13-2003, 10:34 AM No Stinger anywhere! I heard that they are phasing stinger out on all apparel. I think they are keeping him as a mascot though. i think they are SWEET....can we have them as our reg jersey :) i am a fan of one solid color, a tie, and a nice logo in the middle. these jerseys do that and the star with the ohio flage is awesome Aaron Vickers 10-13-2003, 10:45 AM i think they are SWEET....can we have them as our reg jersey :) i am a fan of one solid color, a tie, and a nice logo in the middle. these jerseys do that and the star with the ohio flage is awesome Um, they aren't one solid color ;) Look closer!! Blue and black. RDriesen 10-13-2003, 11:23 AM Um, they aren't one solid color ;) Look closer!! Blue and black. yea, i didnt see that. not as good as i thought then, :) , but still great. i like the logo a lot better than the cbj. but thats just my opinion, maybe others dont like this one more. KeithBWhittington 10-13-2003, 11:31 AM err I thought I saw him on one of the sleeves...guess not. Aaron Vickers 10-13-2003, 11:36 AM err I thought I saw him on one of the sleeves...guess not. I heard he was a patch on one of the shoulders... Ejh18 10-13-2003, 12:04 PM Stinger is completly off the jerseys. The 3rd has the "hat" logo patch, and the CBJ main crest as shoulder patchs The home and Away have the 3rd logo and the "hat" logo... Samkow 10-13-2003, 01:28 PM Um, they aren't one solid color ;) Look closer!! Blue and black. That isnt going to show up on TV very well. missionhockey21 10-13-2003, 02:24 PM Those are indeed sweet jerseys. *expects a Rick Nash third jersey to be under the tree at Christmas* ;):) purecracka 10-13-2003, 03:56 PM Very nice! Im very pleased with the 3rd. I'm glad that its not like the pumpkin orange of the NYI or the the mixture of green, yellow, orange, (puke?), of Nashville. In the Bluejackets.com article it said that Donatios is selling T-shirts with the new logo on them for only 4.99 with purchase or 6.99 with out. That is a nice deal. I need to get my parents to ship the jersey and shirt to me over here and represent the Blue Jackets in style :D missionhockey21 10-13-2003, 05:33 PM Very nice! Im very pleased with the 3rd. I like it! :handclap: jacketracket 10-13-2003, 09:08 PM The new 3rd. is getting great reviews by others over on the 'NHL Talk' forum! :handclap: I like the idea of using two different shoulder patches---keeping the original crest as one, and the new kepi patch is simply awesome! I wasn't as sure about the black, but after seeing it up close at the game, it grew on me. A nice job, and well worth the wait! golfmade 10-13-2003, 10:49 PM Ugh, don't like it at all. After listening to the game on Nhl.com at work tonight and hearing the announcers state "These are the best jerseys in all of pro sports" I had to come home and check em out... right, best jerseys in all pro sports  3mta3 10-14-2003, 04:23 AM They are great, if you can overlook the Ohio flag flying backwards on it. I can't do that yet, so they look "off" to me. I guess that's what you get when a front office full of Canadians gets non-Ohioans to design the sweater. They aren't used to seeing it fly anywhere, so what's the difference - forwards, backwards - it's just a state flag, right? :) Everything else looks good. I could do without the Wild-esque striping on it, but the masses seem to be crazy about it. missionhockey21 10-14-2003, 12:39 PM The guys defiently looked good in them last night imo. JF Omalycat 10-14-2003, 01:03 PM I thought the string looked a little odd, almost like it doesn't come down the chest far enough? They're alright, but I agree, I think "the best looking jerseys in all of pro-sports" is a little ridiculous. Sure glad the bug is gone, though! I got my third jersey today, tried it on, and when I looked in the mirror at it, the flag wasn't flying backwards. :joker: jacketracket 10-14-2003, 01:31 PM I don't know what you're talking about. When I read your post, the first thing that came to mind was Chris Farley at the Nat, sporting a CBJ 3rd and drinking a beer! :) Matt Foley* 10-26-2003, 03:32 PM Don Cherry's comments on the third jersey, among other ramblings. http://cbc.ca/clips/ram-lo/coach031025.ram Oz 10-26-2003, 04:23 PM Didn't listen to what he said, but the guy is a *********. Ripping Kovalchuk for celebrating a hat trick (on an EN, I know)? I'm sure if it was Spezza doing it he would have no problem with it. I despise the clown more than our "beat writers" in the Disgrace. Hockey etiquite is something he knows. Celebrating an empty net goal? What was it Al Iafraite said? Empty-net goals are for homos. Oz 10-26-2003, 04:44 PM He's got a point. Hockey etiquite is something he knows. Celebrating an empty net goal? What was it Al Iafraite said? Empty-net goals are for homos. He singlehandedly brought his team back to win against the Preds. The empty net goal completed a great comeback and the last of his two hat tricks of the week. Crucify the guy for showing some passion. Aaron Vickers 10-26-2003, 06:05 PM He singlehandedly brought his team back to win against the Preds. Crucify the guy for showing some passion. I'll admit to not seeing the celebration, but on an empty net goal? I don't care if it's for a hat-trick or not, celebrating an empty netter is horrid, and Nashville wont forget that. The guy has two hat-tricks this week. He's having a helluva start. Scoring goals now should be damn near boring for this kid, no need to celebrate an empty netter. Hell, I don't even think Oliwa celebrated after his first goal in 3 years with 4 teams, and his was a dandy on a breakaway. Matt Foley* 10-28-2003, 03:31 AM For some reason, I can't download the audio w/Cherry's comments about the 3rds---can somebody please give me the gist of what he said? Cherry was very complimentary of it, saying something to the effect of "Isn't this the greatest jersey you've ever seen?" When host Ron MacLean refers to "Blue Jacket" as an insect, Don corrects him and explains the Civil War ties to the team nickname. A 30 second exchange at most, but worth mentioning since Don understands the nickname, versus what seems to be about 99% of NHL fans who don't. jacketracket 10-28-2003, 04:22 AM Cherry was very complimentary of it, saying something to the effect of "Isn't this the greatest jersey you've ever seen?" Good pub for the CBJ 3rd---as controversial as Cherry is, I doubt many will dispute that he knows hockey. Nice to hear that a well-known Canadian hockey voice is explaining the concept of 'Blue Jackets'. I stupidly assumed that he had blasted it, based on some dislike of expansion hockey. smith288 10-30-2003, 05:49 AM Just get rid of Stinger...the rest of the NHL world thinks a blue jacket is a bug... *sigh* 3mta3 10-30-2003, 06:43 AM Just get rid of Stinger...the rest of the NHL world thinks a blue jacket is a bug... *sigh* A little late there smith288, as Stinger already has been removed from all the uniforms. He's just a mascot now. smith288 11-06-2003, 12:55 PM A little late there smith288, as Stinger already has been removed from all the uniforms. He's just a mascot now.
