Much discussion about his skills, trade prospects, etc.

He has skills? At this point, I'd be happy to get a bucket of pucks for Sykora.

Seriously though, as long as it's NOT for Laraque...and it IS for a young player and a pick, I'll be ecstatic.

But I have a feeling Burke will trade for Laraque. :help:

Yeah, it's funny how the grass always looks greener in somebody else's yard...on the Oilers board we're postulating about how Sykora would fit quite nicely on our 2nd line, then I come here and it seems like he's about as popular as slow, painful death. :biglaugh:

Seriously, what's the deal with this flake? If he's the 2nd coming of Dancin' Anson Carter, you can keep him.

He's always been the kind of player who needs someone else to create for him. If you have that, then he's pretty good, because his main asset is shooting.

As it is right now, he's clearly frustrated. He's hesitating just long enough that most his shots are getting blocked, and he's taking a lot of penalties. Either Burke finds him a playmaking center, or he needs a change of scenery. Which is a shame, because there aren't a lot of wingers in the league who are proven 1st line players for multiple Stanley Cup finalists.

Right. To me it seems like a case of lost confidence. He's obviously shown in the past that he can play at an elite level. He is primarily a shooter. The problem is with the Ducks he will get to the blue line and launch a slap shot that is easily sticked aside by the goalie 99 times out of 100.

A change of scenery would probably work well for him. Hopefully we get something worthwhile in return.

agreed, he's a pure finisher. He needs:

1) a person to retrieve the puck
2) person to pass him the puck
3) space to shoot it

otherwise, he's really uselesss.

i like him at the powerplay only because he's got a good shot...

if we trade him I wonder who we put back there...

So Basically...he needs Federov. This little **** is killing my hockey pool.
