Something positive

So yeah, the Ducks suck. What else is new? I'm taking this opportunity to point out something positive I've noticed in a thread all by itself.

I think Vish has re-earned the right to his former nickname with his play so far this season - The Ukraine Train. He's been great. Anybody else see something positive? Please?

With every loss we get closer to Kessel!

Sorry, it's the only thing I could think of.

But I agree w/you about Vish. Love to see him throwing those monster hits left and right.

:dunno: Vish sure is great and Todd Fedoruk has turned out to be a pleasant surprise...he can fight and skate!
The Ducks may be losing games right now but it's not that they are not trying hard to win. They are working out there and the fire is there. For whatever reason, the pucks just are not going in.

the only positive thing compared to a week ago is that we suck with 4.5M$ salary less...but that's all.

But she WANTED to get it on.

Thats all Frink really has going for him right now.

something positive...

We have an enforcer who can skate and make plays and stick up for his teammates.

"It was something that had to be addressed," Fedoruk said. "I'm not naming names but you have a guy out there with a visor on running around like he's King Kong. He's not going to back it up. If the refs aren't going to call it, then it falls on the players to take it on. There were so many high hits and late hits."

"You never want to see anybody get hurt," Fedoruk said. "But I'm an emotional player. When I see one of my teammates get hurt, I'm going to send a message that we're not going to stand for it."

Atleast they work hard, whereas in the past lack of effort would be apparant much of the time...

That's what I was going to say. We have a forward group full of 3rd and 4th liners. But they are fast, and they stick up for each other. Most of them are a little lacking on the skill tip, but they play hard.

On D...Vishnevsky is hitting like a mad-man. Becoming the player he was always supposed to be (minus puck carrying ability). Carney continues to play well...despite the turnover against Phoenix.

And as many people have pointed out, S. Nieds is playing like a #1 D-Man...something we've never legitimately had.

The Ducks still play Phoenix 4 more times. Too bad we can't play them 82 times a season because we just can't beat anyone else.

I just thought I'd point out that it's not amazing that Vish can play well when the coach doesn't hate him.

My only critique of babcock was that he constantly played a terrible ahl defender in Sauer over Vishnevski on a constant basis. Must really suck when you see a guy who couldn't hold your jock get more ice time than you because he and the coach are buddies...

Sauer was better at clutching and grabbing. In the old NHL where Babcock wanted to win 1-0 it made more sense to play Sauer than Vish who wanted to throw big hits. Now in the new NHL Sauer is basically an AHLer and Vish is a top 4 d-man.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that not only Selanne has been a nice bargain(someone did mention that), but that he's tied for 3rd in goals out West(1 away from the top), and tied for 12th leaguewide(1 away from 9th), with 12 this year.

Vish 02-03 > Sauer 02-03

Vish now > Sauer now

Vish > Sauer in everyway all the time since they were both born.

Sorry, but Sauer is one of the worst dmen the Ducks have ever had. I hated the guy, and was so glad when he was traded.

Now, when we are at the beginning of another loseing dtreak, it`s time to watch back and tell which are the brighest moments in Mighty Ducks history... it can be a game, hit, save ... anything ;)

I hated Saeur too but he was better at staying in his position and clutching and grabbing people than Vish was in 02-03.

Positive?

You guys have Ryan Getzlaf who is not only:

(A) an indication that the string of poor draft decisions are over for the Ducks

BUT ALSO

(B) a major piece of the puzzle for the Ducks for years to come. While I don't think he'll reach true top line center talent, I think it's entirely probable that he will end up in the Trevor Linden mold, albeit a little less with the goal scoring and more with the physical play. I still think he should've gone top ten in '03.

Also, you have that Ryan guy. I've heard he can score goals sometimes. :)
