During the Florida / Montreal game on our home Habs channel RDS (French TSN) The commentator said that you guys would be acquiring Maxim Ouellet from the Washington Capitals in "the next hours" was his EXACT words

They did not say for who or exactly when, but they usually give good info on french players, just figured ya'll would wanna know

Peace

Hopefully Danius Zubrus is coming along with him to replace Fedorov. Or better yet, Ovechkin!

But yeah, that'll happen when hell freezes over.

Didn't Ouellet clear waivers earlier this season?

I don't know the point of trading for him but if it happens then I'll comment on it then.

Hasn't Ouellet been a prospect for the past 15 years?

pretty much...it was a big deal when Philadelphia traded him and a first, second and third rd pick for Adam Oates...and that was in March 2002.

Max O still has a possible future in the NHL IMO...I dont really want to lose him but it appears the Caps have lost faith in waiting. If the deal is right you guys may get a decent return.

Could go either way I guess...depending on players involved. Is there anyone else Burke is looking to dump?

Sykora. Or with 8 NHL d-men in Anaheim now...possibly Salei.

possibly Salei.Oh reeeeaaaly. Hmmm.

I would think the Caps would have to add on a pick (3rd maybe) to get Salei. I guess we'll see if anything happens.

Just to add...Id be kinda surprised to see the Caps go for a defensman with the play of Eminger, Morrisonn, Heward, Witt, Muir, Majesky and Green so far this season.

No...not the best group but playing much better than most expected. Eminger and Morrisonn are really coming along and someone like Salei might take away from thier minutes (or could bump Muir or Majesky to the press box...which might work as well)

Dunno. Weird trading partners.

a defensemen has to go, the ducks have 8,plus too many forwards for getz/perry to stay.

Well, DiPenta doesn't count. He's not really an NHLer.

too bad Washington won't trade Kolzig, Max Daigneault or Daubenspeck and/or Cassivi to Anaheim instead of Ouellet :biglaugh:

Anaheim fans FYI, just remember Portland spent a dozen years as the Capitals AFFILIATE with a single title

I can't see many players coming over to Washington, unless it improves their line-up, as they are over the limit now, if all the IR guys get healthy. Maybe McPhee will move some of his 4th line players. He has a lot of them! :dunno:

Just some comments and questions for anyone who cares:

-Does anyone know when Elias will return from his hepititus? I remember there were rumors that they were the most dire need to get under the cap once he returns and that the Devils were shopping Colin White since he has been injury prone and not playing well (and Sean Brown has taken his role). If thats the case, I'm wondering is White could be had for someone like Dipenta + late pick so that NJ can remain under the cap. White would be a nice physical addition and also familiar playing with S. Niedermeyer.

-Also, I'm not sure why there are rumors that Burke wants Jason Allison. I wouldnt understand why Toronto would trade hims since they are still doing well. I just hope they dont trade Sykora or Salei for him and that he actually underpays unlike all of his trades thus far...

-I think Perry needs to go back to the minors. Hes just not physically ready to battle in the NHL, but he can definitely finish.

-I wish the ducks got Malhotra instead of Wright. Malhotra may not be an agitator but at least hes an awesome skater in a Rob Neidermeyer mold. We can only hope Wright turns into a Stumpy type player.

The Ducks have recalled Mike Wall from Portland...

The Caps have assigned Frederic Cassivi to Hershey...

The Syracuse Crunch (AHL) have signed Darcy Verot to a PTO (This one's for you hutchy ;) )

then care to explain why there's 2 30 year olds (Cassivi/Daubenspeck) playing in Hershey, King, NOT TO MENTION a 22 YR OLD DESTINED to be labeled just a ECHL prospect in Daigneault while WSH plays a 38 yr old (Kolzig) and a street signed wash-up in Brent Johnson :sarcasm:

I think I read he doesn't have to go through waivers again..I think it's temporary until Burke makes his next move, and I do agree about Perry. Let him go down and pile up the points.
