Here we go again. These game threads may have to end if we don't win a game soon. But by all means discuss.

We played so well at home.[QUOTE] I wonder if Babcock will tell his defensemen not to become involved in fighting and just play more disciplined hockey. I want to see last year's scheme with the newer players. So far, i haven't seen that overall. Feds, Prospal and Simpson need to accomodate themselves faster with the team scheme. I think Krog is overmatched when on the first line. = ( I like Krog, but against some other first liners, it's best to put him on a different line. lux_interior 10-11-2003, 07:58 PM Yeah, I think we get on the scoreboard with a win. Hockeyfan02 10-11-2003, 08:52 PM This is the biggest game of the year.... Spankatola Jamnuts 10-11-2003, 09:15 PM I'll be there. Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 10-11-2003, 09:19 PM I hope we win. Phoenix is a bit challenged and young defensively so we should light it up. 4-1 my prediction. Niedermayer continues his goal streak, while Fedorov nets his first as a Duck(@ the Pond), Lupul also nets his first, and Ozo fires a PP shot which is deflected by Sykora. Prospal has three assists, Ozo obviously one, Fedorov one, Chistov one, and Pahlsson one. The game seems to know that Jiggy starts slow (heh) and that our power play is dangerous to both sides. Pretty entertaining, especially the Burnett empty-netter, which cracked me up. I think I did a pretty good job creating our resident goon. He lost the fight to Nazarov, beat Ference, and Simpson beat Vaananen. Burke made some huge saves. Bounces were against us tonight. Passes were just missing, pucks were rolling over sticks on shots, etc. I'm surprised there was no review on the play where Fedorov was hauled down late in the period but I guess the whistle blew. This sucks. Hopefully we can get our act together when Ottawa comes in. Dancing Chicken 10-12-2003, 06:36 PM Burke stole this one for us, you guys played great.. Battle of the goalies tonight.. It happened with the Angels. This is so funny. Just a thought, but does anyone really think a string of one goal wins like the ducks had last year can be anything other then a fluke? Get over it. Get used to it. Watch the bandwaggon fans go bye bye. Then again, I think most are already gone. Jiggy had a great game tonight, just couldnt put the puck in the net, its no exuse but they will get their chemestry and play alot better. as far as the bandwagon fans, i personally dont give a **** if they leave or not. Jerky Leclerc 10-12-2003, 07:30 PM Remember how long it took Sykora to get adjusted to playing for the Ducks. I figure its going to take a month or two for Fedorov and Prospal to do the same. Right now, the Ducks need a sparkplug. We could really use Stumpy about now. Rooch 10-12-2003, 07:38 PM stumpy is not coming back. BM should have resigned him right after the cup run and showed him he was important to the success of the team. now the ducks cant buy a goal. hope he has a great season in buffalo. Spankatola Jamnuts 10-12-2003, 07:44 PM That was one of the worst games I've ever seen. At least Jiggy's back to normal, because everything else pretty much blows. McDonald19 10-12-2003, 07:50 PM stumpy is not coming back. BM should have resigned him right after the cup run and showed him he was important to the success of the team. now the ducks cant buy a goal. hope he has a great season in buffalo. Yeah i read that Ottawa was looking at adding Thomas, in case Havlat didn't sign soon...but Havlat signed...I haven't heard anything new about him going to Buffalo. Right now, the Ducks need a sparkplug. We could really use Stumpy about now. Very true. Prospal is getting used to Anaheim faster, maily because he's been alot of places. I suspect he'll be normal the next couple games. Fedorov, on the other hand, like Sykora, has only played for one NHL team his whole career. It'll take a bit longer for him. I'd say a week or two. But, once they're all used to Anaheim, we should be pretty deadly. As for Semenko, why don't you just go to back to the LA board with all your little Queen fans and just stay there. I wonder what you're gonna say when the Ducks pull ahead and make playoffs, while the Queens don't. Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 10-12-2003, 07:52 PM Yeah i read that Ottawa was looking at adding Thomas, in case Havlat didn't sign soon...but Havlat signed...I haven't heard anything new about him going to Buffalo. I hope no one signs Stumpy for a while, and the only person giving him an offer is BM, so he comes back. He'd really help Lupul and Cheesy about now. Spankatola Jamnuts 10-12-2003, 07:53 PM ??? Prospal looked like warm ***** tonight. No speed, all hesitation, there's no toughness to him. He's not greasy. He's kind of annoying. He pissed Fedorov off in the first period. The whole team was cruising, no urgency until it was far too late. Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 10-12-2003, 07:58 PM Pre-season he was anyway. Maybe pairing Nieds with him helped. I saw him more as a guy with Nieds and Rooch anyway. caliamad 10-12-2003, 08:06 PM Personally, I thought the team looked great tongiht... we were a little loosey goosey in the first period, but we were dominating the rest of the game. Phoenix played great, but I think they had 2 or 3 scoring chances after the 1st. Federov, Sykora, and Prospal, look like they just need a few more games with each other and then watch out. Sykora seems snake bitten. Prospal has to stop looking to pass all the time. Federov is amazing.. AMAZING!!! Chistov had so many chances. Honeslty guys, this team looks so good 2 ways. From offense to defense, I think we're playing like an elite team, just with out the results. We've had a lot of turnover with key people, some injuries... I'd like better results and we should have won this game and the game against nashville, but its just a bid of bad luck and over a course of 82 games, everything will even out... Can't wait to see how we do against ottawa. FYI, it was THomas' decisiobn not to come back to anaheim, his family is in toronto, and we wanted to play in the east coast to be closer to them. During the stanley cup run, he didn't see his family once from the time he was traded till the season was over... i can respec this decision, but we defnitely miss him... Man, wouldn't it be great to get Carney and Leclerc in the lineup? Rooch 10-12-2003, 08:18 PM its funny kings fans show up here when the team is losing, but when were a game away from the cup, mums the word. and im sorry your right, i meant ottawa, mcd! still waiting for "i am a pp goal waiting to happen" ...yep still waiting. Ducksfan2035 10-12-2003, 08:34 PM im still waiting for the team to gell so we could start winning some hockey games lux_interior 10-12-2003, 09:17 PM Geezus. What a frustrating game. Seemed like the first two periods, we couldn't get much generated. Third period, we started taking some more shots, and got some pressure on Burke. But our offense is seriously struggling. 2 goals in 3 games? Seems like we're trying to make too many passes, make the perfect play. We need to simplify things. Why is Krog still on the top two lines? I don't think he's that good, but maybe I'm missing something. I heard a news report about a fan going up to the rafters with a high powered rifle. Spankatola Jamnuts 10-12-2003, 10:28 PM Turns out I'm as bad a shot as the rest of the team. Snap Wilson 10-12-2003, 10:55 PM Mugs: I was away visiting friends from out of town. Judging by the look of things.... I'M GLAD I MISSED IT! One period of effort doesn't cut it. Right now we're skilled UNDERACHIEVERS. The worst part is, HOW DO YOU FIX IT? I think we need to return to the ugly style of play we had last year. Simple ****. Dump the puck and forecheck, get garbage goals. If Feds doesn't like that style of play, tough ****. Right now, we're not doing anything. Four days to stew over an 0-3 start. CRIPES!!!! MoneyP lux_interior 10-13-2003, 12:29 AM Turns out I'm as bad a shot as the rest of the team. If you were as bad as the team, you would have passed up an open shot, and fed the gun over to Wild Wing. _Del_ 10-13-2003, 02:07 AM If you were as bad as the team, you would have passed up an open shot, and fed the gun over to Wild Wing. lol You guys amuse me... It's still early, there's still hope. I'm sure you'll benefit from the eventual return of LeClerc and Carney... Didn't see the game, so I won't blow anymore sunshine up your, well you know, but it is still pretty early in the season to give up on them all... I still think Fedorov, much as I hate him for his career with the Wings, is an upgrade on Kariya. And I think Prospal is a decent 2nd-3rd line forward; though I'm not sold on him, I'm a believer in depth.. BUT, I still hate the Ducks.... ;) Maybe if you changed the name (or atleast the logo) the feeling would disapate or atleast subside abit.. :) Pwnasaurus 10-13-2003, 05:28 AM Tonight we made the phucking Phoenix Coyotes look like the 77 Habs...Jiggy was fantastic.....but the offense was about as painful to watch as it gets...every shot and pass was getting tipped or was out of sync, etc....Burke wasn't all that great we just didn't have many quality chances...he made maybe 2 or 3 good saves....the Chistov break was one...I don't think Stan could tear tissue paper with his shot...Lupul while he didn't show up on the stat sheet looked to be one of the few guys, aside from Nieds again to be working the boards to try and gain the puck and look to cutters in the middle when it is deep in the zone...everyone else looks to be coasting...an 0-4 start is digging a Fedorov's ego size hole to start the season Hockey Duckie 10-13-2003, 09:18 AM I think the team is still finessing itself for some reason. One too many passes. And it seems like everyone's looking for Fedorov to do things with the puck instead of being selfish and shooting it at the net and hope for a fat rebound. bleah. The third period was exciting though, aside from that... nada. The only line that had consistent offensive opportunities throughout the whole game was the third line of Chistov-Pahlsson-Lupul. Weirdest site: on a faceoff with a line of Chistov-Nieds-Lupul, Nieds was facing off, but was kicked out. I thought Lupul would take the draw, but it was Chistov in the faceoff circle. LoL I was like " what????" for sure we'd lose that faceoff in the offensive end... surely enough, we did.
