Comrie for Arnason (Proposal)TheBrew 10-11-2003, 12:19 PM I read in the papers a few weeks ago that Chicago was in terested in Comrie Would You guys do a Comrie for Arnason Deal. Slowe 10-11-2003, 01:21 PM I have not heard anywhere that Chicago is interested in Comrie. I did hear that some writer speculated Edmonton could target Arnason however... As for if I would do the deal, it depends on what Edmonton thinks they would get for a return. Comrie is more proven than Arnason, but I'd like to see what Arnie can do before we let him go. I feel pretty comfortable that he is going to improve a lot this season so I'd be hesitant to give up too much. AEKaki 10-16-2003, 01:02 PM I read in the papers a few weeks ago that Chicago was in terested in Comrie Would You guys do a Comrie for Arnason Deal. I think Chicago would **** the Oilers if this deal goes through. Comrie is superior to Arnason, and younger. jofa 10-16-2003, 01:14 PM With Zhamnov out and Daze beginning to complain about back problems, I think its a possibility that Edmonton and Chicago may be trading partners, but its pretty difficult to guess which players would be involved from the Blackhawks side. Edmonton typically looks for a return that involves young, cheap(er) players, and Chicago has them in spades. Just wondering from a Chicago perspective, which of these players would the Blackhawks most likely move and which are more likley untouchable: Calder, Arnason, Bell, and McCarthy? I think the last two would be most interesting to the Oilers, but I remember hearing Chicago management saying they had refused a bunch of trade offers for McCarthy last year, so I imagine he isn't going anywhere. What about Mark Bell? Slowe 10-16-2003, 01:50 PM McCarthy would be the first person I would trade. He's not getting a fair shake here in Chicago and would benefit greatly from a scene change. Calder would be the next to go, but barely. He's an excellent player, but I think Bell has a higher potential. But it's a bit of a risk if he'll reach it. Arnason is last to go I would think. First stop. Zhamnov and Karpotsev(no one will take him though). Zhamnov is not useless. Karpovtsev is. MisterUnspoken 10-27-2003, 09:52 AM I'd much rather have Arnason than Comrie for the sanity of management and for the chemistry of the team. Arnason fits with Chicago and is producing more than Comrie at the moment because he doesn't havea chip on his shoulder. Why screw with the teams future & chemistry to acquire someone like Comrie, just doesn't make any sense to me. Once your team gets some decent defenseman via the draft your team will be amazing for close to a decade. Stick with it Chi fans! | ||
