Giguere will have to carry the team a bit

I am bored at work and thus more random thoughts from me:

I am scared a bit by this injury plagued lineup and I think we are very lucky to have this stretch of home games at this point in time in the season. I think McDonald is playing over his head production wise and Selanne's play at his age scares me as every time he takes a hit I hold my breath that he doesn't keel over. Sykora hasn't done much of anything but take more point shots that don't get through and S.Niedermayer, while he's played mistake free hockey, something we've lacked on the blueline forever, he isn't exactly lighting up the scoreboard (again, not that I'm complaining, I think he's been very good thus far, just saying his points aren't really there)...Lupul is inconsistent still...thus I think during this injury bug stretch the Ducks are gonna play some low scoring close games if they hope to come out on top and JS is gonna have to carry the team for the most part. If I had to pick an early MVP right now I'd have a tough time between him and Selanne. Look at some of the other big name goalies, Brodeur, Turco, Theodore, etc and look at their numbers...He's played amazingly well in a very quiet way and I just think he's gonna have to have some big games until our team is back at full strength. If Selanne and McDonald are the only ones scoring, Giguere is gonna have to win games on his own for awhile. We can't play against Divis every night.

The injuries are making guys step up, maybe mcdonald and selanne playing over their heads, but if they avoid injuries and the rules stay the same they can thrive.

Giguere played very solid last week, but we really need him with some of the bigger fish coming up.

Well from what I have seen since all these injuries took place Giguere although solid hasn't been amazing. However if he is off(see St. Louis game) then the presure is really put on this team. AS shown last yeat when he is off he is really off. Just as long as he keeps up what he is doing we should be good to go.

Giguere pretty much won two games this week, Phoenix easily could've had 3 goals in the first period, he also made some huge saves in the calgary game. Hopefully he's consistant.
