Travel Help

Hey guys, I am planning on coming out to Anaheim for a couple of games in about 3 weeks. I've never been to SoCal before (born and raised in upstate, NY and just moved to CO 3 months ago), and I am looking for advice on hotels that either aren't far from the pond or in the middle of Anaheim and LA as I will be going to a Kings game as well but don't really care to stay in LA. I don't want any dumps but also don't wanna spend $300/night. Also wondering if there are any pre/post-game bars that y'all like to go to, the basics for someone coming out for a game that's never been to the area. Thanks in advance.

I don't live in Anaheim but I'm not far away enough to stay in a hotel so I don't know much about them.

It's on the same street as the Pond, not too expensive, and it seems like a nice enough hotel.

I'm not quite old enough to legally go in a bar yet but I know that a lot of people go to JT Schmid's (http://www.jtschmids.com/) directly across from the Pond before and after the games.

and there is a Miller Light Beer Garden before every friday night game this season, in the Pond parking lot...with crappy live music and 5 dollar cups of light beer.

thanks for the tips. i think i'll avoid the hooters though, being female and going out there alone for the games hooters doesn't really apeal to me ;)

do any of you know anything about the Crowne Plaza that's near the arena?

jt shcmidt's is ok if you like the crowd, danny k's more my speed. basically at the corner of main, katella. i think its officially in orange if you go to mapquest. but for a room, i would look at hotels in garden grove. they have rates that are alot lower, because they try to steal the tourists from anaheim. GG can be a little sketchy, so stay as close to the anaheim border as possible.
